On the situation in Syria, ALDE President Guy Verhofstadt said today the efforts to put chemical weapons under international control is commendable but what is needed is an end to bloodshed and the criminal regime of Al Assad.   Assad is using delaying tactics by accepting to put chemical weapons under international control and said "Carrots need sticks, Assad will only react to a credible threat of force".

Guy Verhofstadt continued "I  am very sceptical about the proposal on the table to take chemical weapons out of the equation.   It is a delaying tactic by Al Assad who is merely buying time to recover strength.  His regime has massacred over 100,000 people using conventional weapons yet we only take steps to act when he crosses a red line on 21 August and starts killing using chemical weapons.   This is immoral, hypocritical and irresponsible of the international community."

He continued "What we are effectively saying to Assad is that - put chemical weapons under international control then you can get back to massacring your people using conventional methods.  We have a historic responsibility to stop the continued suffering of the Syrian people."

He concluded "If Assad is allowed to continue to use his airplanes, airports and helicopters to massacre his people the only effective credible deterrent is a comprehensive military strategy which includes a no fly zone"

Verhofstadt, a spokesman for the Belgian-European arms and oil industry

Verhofstadt became president of the Flemish Liberal Student’s Union (1972–1974) while studying law at the University of Ghent. He quickly became the secretary of Willy De Clercq, who was at that time the president of the Flemish liberal party (Party for ‘Freedom and Progress, PVV). In 1982, at age 29, he became president of the party. In 1985 Verhofstadt was elected into the Chamber of Deputies, and became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Budget under Prime Minister Wilfried Martens. Because of his economic views and his young age, he became known as “Baby Thatcher“. Another nickname from that era is “da joenk“, a Brabantian dialect expression meaning “that kid” (in a pejorative sense, referring to his rather iconoclastic and immature style). In 2004, Verhofstadt was suggested as a candidate to replace Romano Prodi as the next President of the European Commission.

In the 2009 European Parliament election, he was elected a member of the European Parliament for the term 2009–2014. He also has been put forward as the possible candidate for replacing José Manuel Barroso as the president of the European Commission by a coalition of greens, socialists and liberals.
On July 1, 2009 he was elected President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group in the European Parliament.
Verhofstadt is also a member of the Club de Madrid, an organization of more than 80 former statesmen. The group works to promote ‘democratic governance and leadership worldwide’.

Since 2012 is Verhofstadt a Board Member of the Brussels-based, Brussels-quoted Sofina holding (petroleum gas and oil platforms). He can look forward to a fee which is in line with that of the other directors, who last year received an amount between 42.000 134.000 euros. The Belgian industrialist Viscount Etienne Davignon is Honorary Director of Sofina.

Current directorships and offices held by Davignon: Chairman of Compagnie Maritime Belge, Compagnie des Wagons-Lits, Recticel, Sibeka, SN Airholding and Palais des Beaux-Arts (Belgium), Vice-Chairman of SUEZ-TRACTEBEL (Belgium), Director of Accor (France), Cumerio, Real Software, SN Brussels Airlines (Belgium), and Gilead (United States).
He is Chairman of the Bilderberg Group and of CSR Europe.
According to the Suez website, Davignon holds 11,111 Suez shares, which are currently worth more than 350,000 euro.

Verhofstadt pleads actually for supply of heavy weapons to the so called ‘Free Syrian Army’. It is part of Verhofstadt’s idea of a Greater Europe with its own army. On 20 February 2009 the European Parliament voted in favour of the creation of Synchronised Armed Forces Europe (SAFE) as a first step towards a true European military force. SAFE will be directed by an EU directorate, with its own training standards and operational doctrine. There are also plans to create an EU “Council of Defence Ministers” and “a European statute for soldiers within the framework of Safe governing training standards, operational doctrine and freedom of operational action”.

Al-Jaafari: UN reports took two years to recognize that terrorist groups recruited children

Jun 17, 2013

Syria’s Permanent envoy to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed that the whole world witnessed a series of crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups against children in Syria, however, it took the UN reports two years to recognize that the armed terrorist groups had been recruiting children in their ranks.

“The Syrian government is committed to protecting citizens, particularly children. Any violation of their safety and security will be subject to mechanisms of strict accountability,” al-Jaafari said during the UN Security Council session held to discuss recruiting children in armed conflicts.

“For the first time, the report of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, Leila Zerrougui,  mentioned the crimes and violations of the armed terrorist groups, particularly recruiting children… we regret that it took the special representative more than two years to recognize that,” Syria’s representative said.

We hoped that the special representative would have asked in her recommendations of the report from the countries which are supporting and sponsoring the armed terrorist groups to stop their support and lift their unilateral economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, al-Jaafari added.

Concerning the shelling of schools and hospitals, al-Jaafari stressed that Syria welcomed the special representative in 2012 and she met Syrian officials and the minister of education who provided her with confirmed information showing the volume of terrorism which targeted the educational sector by the armed terrorist groups. She also paid field visits to schools, hospitals and refugee centers in Damascus and Homs and their countryside, but she decided, for some reasons, to ignore what she saw firsthand.

He went on to say that the health sector was targeted by the armed terrorist groups which sabotaged, burned and looted more than 35% of the Syrian hospitals. Syria provided the special representative with videotapes on the preparations of the terrorists to detonate al-Qseir Hospital and the detonation operation itself as well which took place on September 5th, 2012, nevertheless, the report did not mention this crime.

As for killing and mutilating children, Dr. al-Jaafari said the world witnessed a series of appalling crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups against children since the beginning of the crisis; for example, the 14-year-old boy, Mohammad Qattaa, was shot to death by a fundamentalist terrorist group affiliated with Jabhat al-Nusra after they lashed and tortured him before the eyes of his parents accusing him of blasphemy.

Fayssal, a 4-year-old boy, was hanged to death by an extremist terrorist group in Aleppo in late 2012 after he was raped and dragged along on the ground for a long distance, al-Jaafari added.

Syria’s Special Representative reasserted Syria’s commitment to protecting its citizens and children in particular, clarifying that the Syrian government approved a law on May 6th, 2013 on sentencing everyone who recruited children under 18 years old in any form of fighting to hard labor from 10 to 20 years.

In Homs on Tuesday, a general claiming to be from the rebel group appeared on camera and told a journalist from Reuters news agency that “French and American assistance has reached us and is with us.” When asked to elaborate on the nature of the assistance he added, "We now have weapons and anti-aircraft missiles and, God willing, with all of that we will defeat Bashar [President Assad]."

The international community maintains it is committed to finding a political solution to the conflict and had rejected the idea of military intervention. However, there are growing suspicions that it has been supplying the opposition with weapons indirectly.

This is not the first report of the US covertly supplying the opposition with arms. In December, FBI translator turned whistleblower Sibel Edmonds said she believed the US had been training the Syrian opposition in neighboring Turkey and supplying arms to the country from Incirlik military base close to the Turkish-Syrian border.

In addition, Qatar and Saudi Arabia reportedly held secret meetings to offer financial support to the Syrian rebels to buy weapons.

Political foot-dragging

Thus far the international community has been unable to reach agreement on a resolution to the Syrian conflict. At an emergency meeting called by the UN in Brussels on Tuesday, the Syrian ambassador accused the UN Security Council of purposely stalling and fueling the flames of terrorism in the country.

The UN has shown consistent support for the opposition movement, with both the Security Council and General Assembly repeatedly calling for the ouster of President Assad.

Al-Moallem: The Army Works to Help Citizens Get Rid of Terrorists in al-Qseir

Jun 2, 2013

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem affirmed Syria's keenness on the security and stability of its citizens.

Al-Moallem's remark came during a phone call made by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon today afternoon during which the conversation touched upon the situation in the city of al-Qseir.

The Minister stressed that what the Syrian Arab Army is doing in al-Qseir is to help the citizens get rid of the armed terrorist groups and restore security and stability to the city and its countryside.

Al-Moallem expressed his wonder at "the rising voices on the situation in al-Qseir, whereas we didn't hear this worry when the terrorists seized the city and its countryside and committed the ugliest crimes against the citizens for over 18 months."

The Minister stressed that the Syrian authorities will allow the Red Cross, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, to enter al-Qseir area immediately after the military operations end there.

Syria condemns terrorist act in Turkey

Al-Zoubi: Turkish Government is to Blame for al-Rihaniyeh Bombings

May 12, 2013

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Information Minister, Omran al-Zoubi, stressed that the bombings which rocked al-Rihaniya city in Turkey are a terrorist act that is condemned by all moral, human and legal standards, offering condolences to the Turkish people for the martyrs and wishing recovery for the injured.

"Any accusation against Syria in any statement, where explicit or implicit, by any Turkish official is completely rejected," said al-Zoubi addressing the Intellectual Political Symposium which kicked off Sunday at the al-Assad National Library in Damascus.

Minister al-Zoubi, said that the Turkish government led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to blame for the bombings in al-Rihaniyeh havign urned the border areas with Syria into "international terrorist concentrations," and turned the Turkish civilians' houses, farms and properties into centers and passages for terrorist groups.

He added that the Turkish government has been facilitating the delivery of weapons, explosive devices, car bombs, money and killers into Syria.

Al-Zoubi held Erdogan and the Turkish government directly responsible, both morally and politically, towards the peoples of Syria and Turkey, the region, and the whole world.

He stressed that what happened in al-Rihaniyeh is blamed on Erdogan and the Justice and Development Party, pointing out that Syria has nothing to do with this as it is not how it behaves.

"We have problems with Turkey since hundreds of years, yet Syria…has never acted this way or done such an act. It's not because we can't, but because the way we were raised and our morals, conduct and values don't allow us to do such a thing," he added.

The Minister reiterated that no one has the right in Turkey to issue arbitrary accusations against Syria, expressing deep sorry over the victims of the bombings in al-Rihaniyeh.

Al-Zoubi wondered how the Turkish Interior Minister has accused Syria of the bombings only then to say that he will prove his accusations when they reach evidence, pointing out that when the Turkish minister says he would reach evidence that means he wants to fabricate one.

Al-Zoubi said big questions need to be answered by the Justice and Development Party and Erdogan government, including what interest do [they] have in destroying Syria? Why going too far in killing and destruction? Why this timing for al-Rihaniyeh operation?

He continued asking "Why should the bombings in Turkey take place days before Erdogan's meeting Obama?...Is it that [Erdogan] wants to show off and say he has enough power to intervene in Syria?... Does Erdogan want to foil the Russian-U.S. efforts to hold an international conference?" al-Zoubi asked.

Al-Zoubi commented on the statements made by the Turkish Foreign Minister yesterday in which he said "Turkey can defend itself" by saying "Against whom does it have to defend itself? Does it have to defend itself against terrorism and terrorists?, noting that the government of Erdogan should shoulder complete responsibility for what happened.

"It Turkey, the state and the people, want to defend themselves, they have to ask Erdogan and his government to step down because they are to blame for what happened," the Information Minister added.

"I ask Erdogan to step down as a murderer and blood shedder and I say to him that that it's not his right to brag out his glories at the expense of the blood of the Turks and the Syrians," al-Zoubi added.

He highlighted the cooperation between the Israeli enemy and the Turkish government, despite the latter's claim of supporting the Palestinian people, referring particularly to Turkish government allowing the Turkish Airlines company to sponsor the Israeli second international fair in occupied Jerusalem and the joint military exercises between Turkey and Israel, reminding that the Israeli enemy has not even apologized for the martyrs of Mavi Marmara.

He stressed that Israel has committed an aggression against Syria recently and raided military sites near Damascus and violated, through this aggression, the international commitments (Disengagement of Forces Agreement), adding that Israel has allowed terrorists to operate inside the demilitarized zone and to kidnap the UN observers.

"Accordingly, Syria has the right at this time and at any other time to deal with the Golan issue in the way the owner has the right to deal with his property, because the Golan is and has always been a Syrian Arab land," said the Information Minister," adding that "Israel must understand that it can't take a promenade in the Syrian sky because the Syrian land and sky are not a promenade for anyone."

He stressed that "The Syrian army and people know very well how to defend Syria," noting that this talk is addressed to "all who think that the circumstances are convenient for them to tamper with the country."

"Everybody should know that we are people who don't forget to respond to an aggression against the aggressors, nor do we forget our martyrs and those who killed them," said al-Zoubi.

He pointed out that the Syrian media is facing a real battle, along with all the state's institutions, in terms of offering martyrs and having to confront great pressures by foreign parties to suppress its voice.

He noted that the Ministry of Information has allowed access to 300 media outlets, including American, French and British because "we believe that it they would convey at least part of the truth, that would be in Syria's interest."

Al-Zoubi indicated that Syria has conducted many investigations into lots of incidents which took place on the borders with Turkey and Jordan and come to know quite well who are the perpetrators and the accomplices.

Answering a question on how Syria's future would be, he said reaching "the renewed Syria" is a national political, economic, social, human and cultural project to which all Syrians should contribute regardless of any differences among them.

Al-Zoubi added that this project cannot be launched without a comprehensive national dialogue that does not exclude anyone.

For his part, Head of the Journalists Union, Elias Murad, said the Syrian people can achieve renewal for themselves and their homeland through the package of decisions which have been issued in the framework of the political reform and the national dialogue project.

May 3, 2013

Mosque imams and preachers on Friday condemned the terrorists' attacks on houses of worship and shrines of Companions of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the latest was destroying the shrine of Companion Hujr Bin Oudai in Adra city in Damascus Countryside.

In their Friday sermons, the imams and preachers said this terrorist act is "a flagrant attack on the true tolerant Islam and the sanctity of all Muslims."

They also expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist bombings which took place in Damascus few days ago and claimed the lives of several citizens, stressing that such criminal acts rejected by all holy religions and international conventions.

These acts, the preachers added, indicate the scale of the conspiracies and plots hatched by Syria's enemies, topped by the US and the Zionist entity, and carried out by their mercenaries and agents in the region.

Who's reponsible for the terrorist bombings in Syria ?

Image

1) Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government.  Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust Assad.  C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

2) British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Britain would step up its support for the armed groups in Syria, providing them with an additional £5 million (US$7.8 million). The money is used for terrorist bomb attacks and the undermining ofSyria's government.

3) An official source told a SANA reporter that the seized arms included Nato sniper rifles, machineguns, hunting rifles, explosive devices of various weights, devices for remote control detonation and an amount of batteries and electrical wires.

4) The Belgian State Security "has not confirmed" the rumor that Belgian jihadists are fighting in Syria. The newspapers 'Het Belang van Limburg' and 'Gazet van Antwerpen' argued the opposite: "The State Security confirmed the presence of Belgian terrorists in Syria".  Originally the Flemish newspapers relied on a report by Reuters, dated July 31th 2012, citing statements from "several rebel commanders in the north-west Syria," according to which "Muslims in Great Britain, Belgium and the United States had joined the Free Syrian Army (SLA)". On July 13th, Reuters pointed out a flood "of thousands of assault rifles Belgian FN FAL was in the hands of the rebels".  In its annual reports, the Belgian State Security explains how and why she follows people attracted by fighting abroad: there was attention for Iraq, then, from 2010, to the movement towards Pakistan-Afghanistan border area; Finally, most recently, to new locations: "If the Afghan-Pakistan area, more than Iraq, was still popular in 2010 with the majority of volunteers for jihad", the Belgian State Security wrote in his latest report, "some of them began to plot their way to Yemen, Somalia and the Caucasus". And Syria now? "Obviously. Where they are beaten, those who return and who actually participated in the fighting have gained knowledge on how to handle weapons, strategy and tactics of war," noted the Belgian State Security yesterday. "This is the central reason for the Belgian concern".  Belgian Senator Nele Lijnen said that she intends to launch a discussion at the Belgian Senate regarding the fact that the terrorists in Syria possess weapons made in Belgium.

5) The Swiss Authorities announced that they are investigating into information published by Sonntags Zeitung newspaper about hand grenades used by armed terrorist groups in Syria.

6) The weapons and military equipment recently discovered and seized by the Syrian Army in Idlib province proves NATO's arms and logistic support for terrorists in Syria.

7) The seized weapons in Salqain district in Idlib included 7.26 guns along with other weapons as well as boxes of gunshots with the words "NATO BALL" carved on them.

8) The Lebanese army intelligence has seized a large quantity of wea Lutfallah II container pons hidden inside cars aboard an Italian ship at Tripoli port, north of Lebanon, Lebanese security sources told Al-Manar TV.

9) This comes just days after the Lebanese Army Marines confiscated Lutfallah II arms shipment off the Lebanese port of Batoun while it was carrying 300,000 pounds of weapons within three containers. Reports said the cargo ship, which was flying the flag of Sierra-Leone, had left Libya and was bound to Syria.

10) Lebanese terrorist Mohammad Hussein Fares confessed to participating in smuggling weapons, militants and journalists into Syria and committing terrorists acts against Syrians. Fares said that they smuggled assault rifles, RPG rounds, sniper rifles, LAW missiles, machineguns and cases of ammo, delivering them to Amoun, with al-Jarban coming later to distribute them among terrorists.

11) US, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are arming AL-QAEDA Terrorists to commitTerrorism in Syria

12) Over 30,000 various weapons have been channelled to Syria since unrest flared up there in April last year, Amin Khteit says. The overall amount of explosives makes up 300 tons. The deliveries were made by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They depend on the United States, which is making every effort to overpower Syria.

13) The authorities seized weapons smuggled from Turkey in Tal Abyad area on the Syrian-Turkish borders in Raqqa countryside.

14) A Turkish parliamentarian has stressed that Turkish ambulances are transporting weapons to terrorist groups in Syria, expressing their opposition to Ankara's policies on the Syrian case.

15) News item - August 9, 2012: Sarkozy urges Libyan scenario in Syria. Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, the spearhead of last year’s campaign to oust Muammar Gaddafi, has called for rapid international action on Syria, comparing the current crisis with the situation in Libya. Sarkozy has spoken with the Syrian opposition leader, Abdulbaset Sieda, and both agreed there is a need for foreign intervention in Syria in order to stop the ongoing crisis, Reuters reports.
(Syria was a French Colony from 1918 to 1944)

16) News item - August 11, 2012: US and Turkey to consider no-fly zones forSyria - US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu are considering implementing no-fly zones for Syria after holding Saturday talks in Istanbul. According to Reuters, Clinton said that Ankara and Washington need to plan ways to assist the rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad – including possibly implementing a no-fly zone.
(Syria was part of the Ottoman Empire from the 16th through 20th centuries)

17) News item - September 6, 2012: France has embarked on providing direct financial and arms aid to insurgent-held areas of Syria and is even supplying anti-aircraft weapons to terrorists fighting Syrian Army forces.  France has vowed an extra 5 million euros ($6.25 million) to help Syrian armed groups. France is considering supplying heavy artillery to the Syrian rebels. ( On November 15, 2012, France said 'it would float giving rebels defensive weapons' but in September 2012 it was already weapening anti-Syria-government groups. It is thus clear that the French government misleads the French people. Syria was a French Colony from 1918 to 1944...)

18) News item - November 13, 2012: France became the first European power to recognize Syria's new opposition coalition as the sole representative of its people and said it would look into arming rebels against President Bashar al-Assad once they form a government.
(Syria was a French Colony from 1918 to 1944)

19) News item - November 21, 2012: UK joins France in supporting Syrian rebel coalition - British Foreign Secretary William Hague told members of parliament Tuesday that the National Coalition of the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces was the "sole legitimate representative" of the Syrian people, calling it a "credible" alternative to al-Assad.

20) News item - November 28, 2012: NATO General-Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that NATO allies will respond positively to Turkey’s demand for Patriot missiles within “days” and that command of the system will be under NATO control.
“Russia has no right to intervene in this process. This is a NATO decision; third parties have nothing to say,” Rasmussen said about Russian objections to the deployment.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli echoed Kılıçdaroğlu and calling on the government to inform Parliament on the missiles. “We wonder why Prime Minister Erdoğan abruptly requested Patriot missiles from NATO. Have Syrian missiles been directed to Turkey?
(Syria was part of the Ottoman Empire from the 16th through 20th centuries. After the division of Rome into the Eastern and Western empires in the 4th century, Syria came under Byzantine rule. By the late 11th century, the Seljuk Turks had captured most of Syria)

U.S. backed terrorist bombings

Some months ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists and C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey.

The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and 'medical' working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed. It proved once again that the Turkish government which is not supported by the Turkish population, is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (and with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Photo: Lebanon, bombed by Israeli forces. The New York Times reported that the Bush administration was rushing a shipment of bombs to Israel so it could continue its air assault against Lebanon: 'The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, American officials said Friday.'  Three days later, Forbes reported that the Bush administration was also rushing humanitarian aid to Lebanon: 'President Bush has ordered helicopters and ships to Lebanon to provide humanitarian aid, but he still opposes an immediate cease-fire that could give relief from a 13-day-old Israeli bombing campaign. At the order of the president, humanitarian supplies will start arriving in Lebanon tomorrow by helicopter and by ship,” White House press secretary Tony Snow announced at the White House. “We are working with Israel and Lebanon to open up humanitarian corridors.”

Washington supports terrorists inside and outside Syria

barack-obama-and-ban-ki-moon.jpgOctober 29, 2012 - In two identical letters directed to the Chairman of the UN Security Council and UN Secretary General, the Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Monday stressed that the failure of the UN Security Council to condemn the bombing which took place in Daf al-Shouk neighborhood has encouraged terrorists to continue committing crimes against the Syrian people.

In the two letters which the Ministry demanded by issued as official Security Council and UN General Assembly documents under counter-terrorism articles, the Ministry said that on Monday October 29, 2012, a car bomb explosion shook a neighborhood in the town of Jarmana south of Damascus, resulting in the death of 11 citizens and injuring over 20, in addition to causing grave material damage to building to surrounding buildings and shops.

The letters said that this bombing took place in a town where Syrian Muslims and Christians of various sects coexist, and that it is one of the devastating bombings that took place in Syria during Eid al-Adha holiday, noting that the Syrian government announced its commitment to the cessation of military operations during this holiday, pointing out that the failure of the UN Security Council to condemn the bombing which took place in Daf al-Shouk neighborhood has encouraged terrorists to continue committing crimes against the Syrian people.

The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry went on to say that the US and some European and western countries disrupted the issuing Security Council statements that condemn the bloody terrorism claiming dozens of lives of women, children and the elderly in Syria, with the last such incident being when the UK, a permanent UNSC member, objected to issuing a statement condemning the bombing carried out by terrorist elements in Daf al-Shouk, a neighborhood in Damascus, which claimed the lives of many martyrs and wounded many others, in addition to destroying tens of houses.

The Ministry said that the disruption of such procedures by countries that claim to combat international  terrorism cannot be interpreted as anything other than practical support for terrorism and terrorists, noting that the US, France, Germany and Britain take turns among themselves to disrupt these procedures every time terrorists commit their crimes in Syria under blatant excuses and allegations that clearly indicate the existence of an agenda targeting the Syrian people, their achievements and their civilization, as well as constituting blatant proof of detestable double standards.

PRAGUE, (SANA) – Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg stressed that the armed terrorist groups receive large amounts of money and supply from countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

The Czech News Agency quoted Schwarzenberg in an exclusive interview with The Cable as saying that his country doesn’t think that the western countries should arm these groups.

He said that things seemed to be more difficult in Syria because ”on the opposition side, there are many different groups, with different aims, financed by different countries."

Iranian Foreign Ministry, SCP Condemn Terrorist Bombings in Damascus

Sep 26, 2012

TEHRAN/DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast condemned the two terrorist bombings which took place in Damascus on Wednesday and resulted in the martyrdom and injuring of a number of citizens.

In a statement, Mehmanparast said that the responsibility for such terrorist actions falls on the countries and sides that seek to foil internal and regional efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria through political methods and dialogue without foreign interference.

He affirmed that aggravating the security situation, escalating terrorist and military activities and foreign intervention do not help resolve the crisis in Syria at all.

While he denounced these bombings which led to the martyrdom of a reporter from Press TV and injured the director of the office of Al-Alam TV channel, Mehmanparast said that mass media is fulfilling its duties under difficult and dangerous circumstances to cover events and publish facts to raise the awareness of public opinion, stressing that the use of force cannot deter journalists from clarifying the reality of the situation in Syria to the public.

Syrian Communist Party: Damascus Terrorist Bombings Aim to Undermine Syria's Anti-Imperialist Course and the Syrians' Steadfastness

In a statement, the Syrian Communist Party (SCP) affirmed that the two terrorist bombings that targeted the General Staff building aim to undermine Syria's anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist course and the Syrians' honorable steadfastness which foiled all conspiracies.

The SCP said that intelligence agencies of certain regressive Arab sides, particularly Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are funding the vandalism and terrorism acts committed by armed groups in Syria, while Turkey offers full sponsorship to these groups, all while waging a rabid propaganda campaign, employing a criminal economic siege, and leveling diplomatic pressure.

The SCP pointed out that the rise in vandalism and terrorist acts, from massacres to assassinations to bombings, will not defeat the Syrians and the valiant Syrian Arab Army, and that Syria will remain invincible to all conspiracies and faithful to its resistant history.

The statement also lauded the stances of the countries and peoples who support Syria in the face of this conspiracy, saluting the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and the homeland's martyrs.
