U.S. Embassy misleads...

American.Embassy.in.Beirut.gif

'U.S. Embassy misleads State Department on Demmink'

The persistent allegations of child abuse to the address of the Dutch Secretary-General for Justice, Mr. Joris Demmink, right?

Who can tell? The fact is that from official frantically continues to spread disinformation about. We have already talked about the constantly repeated untruth that would have been determined that Demmink not in Turkey at the time of the abuse of which he is accused. That is a distortion of the fact that in the course of an investigation - which anyway is controversial because Demmink just stayed in office - it failed to find evidence of his presence.

Of error and misinformation games
But absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. That even though a former Minister of Justice Hirsch Ballin in Netherlands Fri themselves guilty of these transparent deception, gives food for thought. It seems that now the U.S. Embassy is drawn into such games of error and misinformation. According to a news report yesterday by WND, the embassy Demmink informed about its government. Undoubtedly following the hearing in Congress on 4 October. In the relevant email states that for Demminks debt never "conclusive evidence" is provided, despite repeated accusations. At an official level, is that right, but the point is precisely that this official level on points about the case demonstrable untruth speaks. "In fact", the embassy, ??"that a gay and a tabloid newspaper that the allegations were published by order of the court in 2003 had to rectify their stories."

Messages about Demmink in 2003 not corrected
Well, from a certain point you can muster admiration for that formulation. In itself there namely no flaw in that. Yet, as presented here in this context, it is downright misleading. Indeed had Gaykrant and Panorama in 2003 to rectify. But not because Demmink or because the Ministry of Justice. Who have never litigated against the blades and could therefore on that basis not enforce rectification.Whoever did it, was dean Van der Valk, also as a visitor to the Anne Frank parking facilities in Eindhoven in the news had arrived. What exactly happened to the allegation was true, is unclear. In any case it is Gaykrant and Panorama failed this with hard evidence to sustain. That message is corrected. But not the allegations against the 'top official'. Who are not on that occasion by order of the court corrected. That is of course the interpretation that arises through the suggestive way the American embassy information serving.

Sand in eyes
At the point in question, namely whether the accusations against Demmink then by a Dutch court are reviewed, will once again demonstrate deception place. This time by the U.S. government, for a change. The State Department, the U.S. Department of State, however, must by its own embassy no sand in the eyes let straw. And the U.S. Congress not by the State Department.

Noam Chomsky visits Gaza

gaza.bombed.jpg

Noam Chomsky, one of the world’s greatest linguists, philosophers, and political critics, is finally here in Gaza for the first time.

Oct 20, 2012  - Chomsky was the guest speaker in a seminar attended by Gaza’s elite thinkers and intellectuals mainly discussing his political views and opinions on contemporary political issues.

Mr. Chomsky openly slammed on the United States foreign policy, specially its unlimited support to Israel. He said that the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is still more realistic than the one-state solution, despite the continuous expansion of the Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Mr. Chomsky bitterly criticized the US’s policies in the Middle East, which are based on supporting dictators all the way until it is no more possible to protect them, and then replacing them with new faces keeping the old regime in place. He was not excited about what is called “the Arab Spring”, and was definitely against any foreign intervention in Syria. Chomsky was invited to Gaza by the Islamic University of Gaza.

The 84 year-old intellectual, along with 10 other international intellectuals, accepted the invitation to Gaza to participate in the First International Conference of Applied Linguistics and Literature at the Islamic University of Gaza.

To the besieged Gaza Strip, Noam Chomsky and his fellow intellectuals have come here to share their thoughts and views with Gazans, breaking all political restrictions.

Russia warns NATO

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.jpg

Russia warns NATO of ‘unpleasant response’

Russia has warned that it may deliver an unpleasant “technical response” to NATO over the planned deployment of a NATO missile system in Europe.

"The Russian response is currently mostly virtual, political, and diplomatic in character, but under certain circumstances we would be forced to deliver a technical response, which I don't think you'll like," UPI quoted Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin as saying at a meeting with NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Moscow on Thursday.

The United States and NATO agreed to establish a missile system during a summit in Lisbon in 2010, but negotiations between Russia and the Western military alliance have foundered on NATO’s refusal to give Russia legal guarantees that the system would not target the country’s strategic nuclear deterrent.

Moscow has also called for the shared control of any missile system. Washington, however, refuses to share the system’s control with any third party.

In return, Russia has threatened to aim a new generation of missiles at military targets in Europe and to deploy its own missile interceptors in the Kaliningrad region on the Baltic Sea coast.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin called NATO “a Cold War atavism,” saying the alliance should turn into a political organization.

"Why it (NATO) still exists in modern times, is just not clear. It is to a significant extent a throwback to the times of the Cold War," Putin said.

"I have always believed that NATO is a Cold War atavism. It was set up at a time, when there was a bipolar system in international relations. Today, that situation has changed therefore, it is hard to understand or justify why an organization such as NATO should be existing today,” the president added.

Russia has repeatedly objected to the establishment of the NATO missile system, saying the country is the main target of the system as it possesses a significant number of nuclear weapons. It is clear that NATO is not a military defense system but a war machine in service of the American-European Empire.

Putin calls for taking military-technical cooperation with BRICS to new level

NOVO OGAREVO: President Vladimir Putin called for raising military-technical cooperation with partner countries from the BRICS Group – Brazil, India, China, and South Africa – and also with Vietnam to a new level.

“We will develop cooperation with our partners from the BRICS Group and with Vietnam,” Putin said at a meeting of the Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation on Wednesday, October 17.

“Given the growing technological, industrial and scientific potential of these countries, military-technical cooperation with them can and should be raised to a qualitatively new level,” the president said.

He said he meant “deep industrial cooperation and joint research, creation of effective maintenance and after-sale service systems, and joint access to third countries”.

Putin recalled that “the BRICS countries have been dynamically gaining political, economic and technological momentum over the last several years, and showing high and stable growth rates. BRICS countries account for 43 percent of the world’s population and their combined GDP is makes up about one-fifth of the global”.

He believes that Russia has “built a constructive dialogue” with these countries, and it has been successfully coordinating actions with them on a wide range of global and regional issues.

India and China are “traditional key partners” of Russia in military-technical cooperation. “We see broad prospects for relations in this field with Brazil and South Africa,” he said.

Putin said Vietnam is “one of the trusted partners of Russia” with which “we are intensifying military-technical cooperation after some pause in the 1990s”.

As an example, Putin cited India with which “we do not limit ourselves to the supply of finished products only and give more and more attention to join R&D work and licensed production, including for supply to other countries”.

“Benefits are obvious: joint production allows us to reduce production costs, obtain and introduce new technologies, including dual purpose ones, and organise rational transfer of technologies from the defence indsutry to civilian sectors,” the president said.

U.N., an instrument of the US. and Israel

1) On November 15, 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for urging his cabinet to accept a U.S. proposal to extend a freeze on West Bank settlement building for 90 days. Under the plan, Washington would block UN resolutions critical of Israel, and supply Israel with fighter jets worth $3 billion. The US government also promised Israel that after the 90-day moratorium, they would not seek an extension, and settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (all of which is illegal under international law) could continue unabated.

2) In February 2011, more than 100 nations voted for a U.N. resolution that would have condemned illegal Israeli settlements and halted anynew construction. The United States vetoed it.

3) On February 19, 2011, Israel said it was deeply grateful to the United States after it vetoed a United Nations resolution put forward by the Palestinian leadership condemning Israeli settlement activity.

Obama: Nobel Prize for Peace !

g8-leaders-watch-the-football.jpg

When Sen. Barack Obama ran for the presidency in 2008 many wishful-thinking Democratic voters viewed him as a peace candidate because he opposed the Iraq war (but voted yes on the war budgets while in the Senate). Some others assumed his foreign/military policy would be along the lines of Presidents George H. W. Bush (whom Obama admires) or Bill Clinton. Some who identified as progressives actually thought his foreign/military policy might tilt to the left.

Instead, center rightist that he is, Obama’s foreign/military policy amounted to a virtual continuation of George W. Bush’s Global War on Terrorism under a different name. He extended Bush’s wars to Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya and elsewhere while greatly expanding the war in Afghanistan, hiking the military budget, encouraging the growth of militarism in U.S. society by repeatedly heaping excessive praise on the armed forces, and tightening the military encirclement of China.

Summing up some of his military accomplishments a few months ago, Obama declared: “We’ve succeeded in defending our nation, taking the fight to our enemies, reducing the number of Americans in harm’s way, and we’ve restored America’s global leadership. That makes us safer and it makes us stronger. And that’s an achievement that every American — especially those Americans who are proud to wear the uniform of the United States Armed Forces — should take great pride in.”

American 'Peace Process'

Israeli settlers from Bracha settlement throw stones at Palestinian farmers.jpg

'Group of Arab States call on UNSC to take action against Israel'

The Group of Arab States in the United Nations has called on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to act on Israel’s violation of human rights against the Palestinian people.

"The Arab Group deplores the continuous Israeli violations against the Palestinian population in the occupied Palestinian territory, including the blockade, aerial bombardments and extrajudicial killings,” said a Monday statement read out by the Egyptian permanent representative to the United Nations Mootaz Ahmadein Khalil.

Addressing the UNSC in an open meeting on the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the issue of Palestine, Khalil reiterated that the aggressions against the people of Palestine by Israeli settlers has “reached unprecedented levels.”

Israeli settlers, mostly armed, regularly attack Palestinian villages and farms and set fire to their mosques, olive groves and other properties in the occupied West Bank under the so-called “price tag” policy. However, the Tel Aviv regime rarely detains the assailants.

"The desecration of Christian and Muslim shrines in the occupied territories including the recent 'price tag' attacks against churches and the storming of al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem this month, deserve special attention,” Khalil said.

“The recent threats to launch a full military operation against Gaza are additional reminders about the intentions of the occupying power," he added.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Israeli settlements are considered illegal by the UN and most countries because those territories were captured by Israel in a war in 1967, and are hence seen as being subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.

The 2,000-pound "smart" bomb that killed two U.S. special forces troops and injured 20 others in Afghanistan on December 5, 2001 is one of the most modern and precise weapons in America's military arsenal. Such "JDAMs" (joint direct attack munitions) bombs, which are dropped in both 1,000-pound and 2,000-pound versions, were developed after the 1991 Gulf War for more precise day and night use against ground targets through fog, clouds or other bad weather. A JDAM cluster is shown in this undated Air Force photograph. REUTERS/USAF/Handout RC/SV(Credit: © Reuters Photographer / Reuters)

Here’s another WikiLeaked cable that offers an unfiltered look at a little-discussed aspect of American foreign policy: the Bush-era State Department panicked in 2008 after Afghanistan unexpectedly signed an international treaty banning cluster bombs, with the U.S. fearing that the military could no longer store and use the controversial weapons in Afghanistan.

The December 2008 cable followed an international summit at which Afghanistan and over 90 other countries — not including the U.S. — signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM), which ban the use of bombs that scatter so-called bomblets over a wide area. Some of the bomblets typically do not explode, creating a deadly hazard for civilians that can last for many years.

Because the treaty prohibits not only the use of cluster bombs, but also the storage of the munitions, the State Department was worried about the fate of the American store of the bombs in Afghanistan. So Washington sent a note to the embassy in Kabul to pressure the Afghan government on this point:

The U.S. Government believes Article 21 of the Convention provides the flexibility for signatories to continue to cooperate and conduct operations with U.S. forces, and in turn for U.S. forces to store, transfer, and use U.S. cluster munitions in the territory of a State Party. The Department requests that Post approach appropriate interlocutors at the Afghan Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense to urge Kabul to interpret Article 21 in a similar manner, minimizing any potential impact of Afghanistan,s signature of the Convention on U.S. operations and military cooperation. Given the political sensitivities in Afghanistan surrounding cluster munitions as well as air and artillery strikes in general, the Department believes that a low-profile approach will be the best way to ensure a common understanding that the CCM does not impede military planning and operations between our two governments.

Remarkably, one of the U.S. talking points argued that the use of cluster bombs would actually reduce civilian casualties (emphasis added).

Not allowing the use of cluster munitions will increases risk to Coalition forces engaged in combat from enemy counter-fire, reduce responsiveness, decrease the number of different targets that can be attacked within a specified timeframe, and will substantially increase risks of collateral damage by requiring usage of a greater number of large, unitary warheads to accomplish the same mission.

The Guardian has more on how the U.S. also labored to keep cluster munitions in Britain, which, like Afghanistan, signed the treaty.

'We preach freedom around the world'

John F. Kennedy

Civil Rights Address

11 June 1963

Good evening, my fellow citizens:

This afternoon, following a series of threats and defiant statements, the presence of Alabama National Guardsmen was required on the University of Alabama to carry out the final and unequivocal order of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Alabama. That order called for the admission of two clearly qualified young Alabama residents who happened to have been born Negro. That they were admitted peacefully on the campus is due in good measure to the conduct of the students of the University of Alabama, who met their responsibilities in a constructive way.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

Today, we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. And when Americans are sent to Vietnam or West Berlin, we do not ask for whites only. It ought to be possible, therefore, for American students of any color to attend any public institution they select without having to be backed up by troops. It ought to to be possible for American consumers of any color to receive equal service in places of public accommodation, such as hotels and restaurants and theaters and retail stores, without being forced to resort to demonstrations in the street, and it ought to be possible for American citizens of any color to register and to vote in a free election without interference or fear of reprisal. It ought to to be possible, in short, for every American to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard to his race or his color. In short, every American ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated. But this is not the case.

The Negro baby born in America today, regardless of the section of the State in which he is born, has about one-half as much chance of completing a high school as a white baby born in the same place on the same day, one-third as much chance of completing college, one-third as much chance of becoming a professional man, twice as much chance of becoming unemployed, about one-seventh as much chance of earning $10,000 a year, a life expectancy which is 7 years shorter, and the prospects of earning only half as much.

This is not a sectional issue. Difficulties over segregation and discrimination exist in every city, in every State of the Union, producing in many cities a rising tide of discontent that threatens the public safety. Nor is this a partisan issue. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics. This is not even a legal or legislative issue alone. It is better to settle these matters in the courts than on the streets, and new laws are needed at every level, but law alone cannot make men see right. We are confronted primarily with a moral issue. It is as old as the Scriptures and is as clear as the American Constitution.

The heart of the question is whether all Americans are to be afforded equal rights and equal opportunities, whether we are going to treat our fellow Americans as we want to be treated. If an American, because his skin is dark, cannot eat lunch in a restaurant open to the public, if he cannot send his children to the best public school available, if he cannot vote for the public officials who will represent him, if, in short, he cannot enjoy the full and free life which all of us want, then who among us would be content to have the color of his skin changed and stand in his place? Who among us would then be content with the counsels of patience and delay?

One hundred years of delay have passed since President Lincoln freed the slaves, yet their heirs, their grandsons, are not fully free. They are not yet freed from the bonds of injustice. They are not yet freed from social and economic oppression. And this Nation, for all its hopes and all its boasts, will not be fully free until all its citizens are free.

We preach freedom around the world, and we mean it, and we cherish our freedom here at home, but are we to say to the world, and much more importantly, to each other that this is the land of the free except for the Negroes; that we have no second-class citizens except Negroes; that we have no class or caste system, no ghettoes, no master race except with respect to Negroes?

Now the time has come for this Nation to fulfill its promise. The events in Birmingham and elsewhere have so increased the cries for equality that no city or State or legislative body can prudently choose to ignore them. The fires of frustration and discord are burning in every city, North and South, where legal remedies are not at hand. Redress is sought in the streets, in demonstrations, parades, and protests which create tensions and threaten violence and threaten lives.

We face, therefore, a moral crisis as a country and a people. It cannot be met by repressive police action. It cannot be left to increased demonstrations in the streets. It cannot be quieted by token moves or talk. It is a time to act in the Congress, in your State and local legislative body and, above all, in all of our daily lives. It is not enough to pin the blame on others, to say this a problem of one section of the country or another, or deplore the facts that we face. A great change is at hand, and our task, our obligation, is to make that revolution, that change, peaceful and constructive for all. Those who do nothing are inviting shame, as well as violence. Those who act boldly are recognizing right, as well as reality.

Next week I shall ask the Congress of the United States to act, to make a commitment it has not fully made in this century to the proposition that race has no place in American life or law. The Federal judiciary has upheld that proposition in a series of forthright cases. The Executive Branch has adopted that proposition in the conduct of its affairs, including the employment of Federal personnel, the use of Federal facilities, and the sale of federally financed housing. But there are other necessary measures which only the Congress can provide, and they must be provided at this session. The old code of equity law under which we live commands for every wrong a remedy, but in too many communities, in too many parts of the country, wrongs are inflicted on Negro citizens and there are no remedies at law. Unless the Congress acts, their only remedy is the street.

I am, therefore, asking the Congress to enact legislation giving all Americans the right to be served in facilities which are open to the public -- hotels, restaurants, theaters, retail stores, and similar establishments. This seems to me to be an elementary right. Its denial is an arbitrary indignity that no American in 1963 should have to endure, but many do.

I have recently met with scores of business leaders urging them to take voluntary action to end this discrimination, and I have been encouraged by their response, and in the last two weeks over 75 cities have seen progress made in desegregating these kinds of facilities. But many are unwilling to act alone, and for this reason, nationwide legislation is needed if we are to move this problem from the streets to the courts.

I'm also asking the Congress to authorize the Federal Government to participate more fully in lawsuits designed to end segregation in public education. We have succeeded in persuading many districts to desegregate voluntarily. Dozens have admitted Negroes without violence. Today, a Negro is attending a State-supported institution in every one of our 50 States, but the pace is very slow.

Too many Negro children entering segregated grade schools at the time of the Supreme Court's decision nine years ago will enter segregated high schools this fall, having suffered a loss which can never be restored. The lack of an adequate education denies the Negro a chance to get a decent job.

The orderly implementation of the Supreme Court decision, therefore, cannot be left solely to those who may not have the economic resources to carry the legal action or who may be subject to harassment.

Other features will be also requested, including greater protection for the right to vote. But legislation, I repeat, cannot solve this problem alone. It must be solved in the homes of every American in every community across our country. In this respect I wanna pay tribute to those citizens North and South who've been working in their communities to make life better for all. They are acting not out of sense of legal duty but out of a sense of human decency. Like our soldiers and sailors in all parts of the world they are meeting freedom's challenge on the firing line, and I salute them for their honor and their courage.

My fellow Americans, this is a problem which faces us all -- in every city of the North as well as the South. Today, there are Negroes unemployed, two or three times as many compared to whites, inadequate education, moving into the large cities, unable to find work, young people particularly out of work without hope, denied equal rights, denied the opportunity to eat at a restaurant or a lunch counter or go to a movie theater, denied the right to a decent education, denied almost today the right to attend a State university even though qualified. It seems to me that these are matters which concern us all, not merely Presidents or Congressmen or Governors, but every citizen of the United States.

This is one country. It has become one country because all of us and all the people who came here had an equal chance to develop their talents. We cannot say to ten percent of the population that you can't have that right; that your children cannot have the chance to develop whatever talents they have; that the only way that they are going to get their rights is to go in the street and demonstrate. I think we owe them and we owe ourselves a better country than that.

Therefore, I'm asking for your help in making it easier for us to move ahead and to provide the kind of equality of treatment which we would want ourselves; to give a chance for every child to be educated to the limit of his talents.

As I've said before, not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or equal motivation, but they should have the equal right to develop their talent and their ability and their motivation, to make something of themselves.

We have a right to expect that the Negro community will be responsible, will uphold the law, but they have a right to expect that the law will be fair, that the Constitution will be color blind, as Justice Harlan said at the turn of the century.

This is what we're talking about and this is a matter which concerns this country and what it stands for, and in meeting it I ask the support of all our citizens.

Thank you very much.

Washington is responsible for terrorist acts and death of Syrian civilians

Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government. Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust Assad.  C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

America: a 'democracy' with unjust laws...

Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, March 26, 1964.jpg

Letter from a Birmingham Jail

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a major part of many nonviolent protests as he helped lead the fight for desegregation and equal rights. He was arrested numerous times. In 1963, numerous "sit-ins" were staged in Birmingham, Alabama to protest segregation in restaurants and eating facilities. King was arrested during one of these and while he was imprisoned wrote his famous "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." In this letter he argued that only through visible protests would progress be made. He argued that it was an individual's duty to protest and in fact disobey unjusts laws.

EU wins Nobel Peace Prize for promoting 'democracy'...

NATO.bombs.Nasser.university3.jpgsirte.destroyed1.jpgAFP - Oslo, October 12, 2012

The Nobel Peace Prize was on Friday awarded to the European Union, an institution currently wracked by crisis but is credited with bringing more than a half century of peace to a continent ripped apart by World War II.

"The union and its forerunners have for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe," Nobel Committee president Thorbjoern Jagland said in Oslo.

"Over a seventy-year period, Germany and France had fought three wars. Today war between Germany and France is unthinkable. This shows how, through well-aimed efforts and by building up mutual confidence, historical enemies can become close partners," he said, explaining this year's prize decision. Institutions that have won

The award is however a surprise at a time when European solidarity is facing its most daunting challenge in decades amid deep rifts between a south drowning in debt and a wealthier north, led by Germany, only reluctantly coming to the rescue.

European Union President Herman Van Rompuy said on Friday that the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize was a tribute to more than six decades of EU countries acting to "overcome war and divisions."

The prize recognised "the unique effort by ever more European states to overcome war and divisions and to jointly shape a continent of peace and prosperity," Van Rompuy said on Twitter after the award was announced in Oslo.

Whether or not that begrudging assistance will keep the European project afloat remains to be seen, but the deep crisis has broadened the gulf already felt between citizens in the different member states and a Brussels long seen as too distant and bureaucratic. EU Parliament head 'touched, honoured'

But the creation of the organisation is credited with helping to bring peace and stability to the war-torn continent by bringing together arch-enemies France and Germany and herding them down the same path.

Despite recurring difficulties, the EU has become the biggest common market in the world, allowing free circulation of goods, people, services and capital.

Over the years, the pioneering project has swelled to encompass 27 countries which not long ago sat on either side of the Iron Curtain.

They came to the table with vastly different economic, social and cultural situations, but following intense integration efforts, a full 17 of them now share a common currency. Full list of Nobel Peace Prize winners

This year's prize will also cause shockwaves in host country Norway, which itself has rejected joining the union twice, in 1972 and 1994, and where three quarters of the inhabitants today say they are opposed to membership, according to recent polls.

Syria fights for national sovereignty

nasser-photo.jpg

Speech by President Nasser of the United Arab Republic, September 15, 1956

In these decisive days in the history of mankind, these days in which truth struggles to have itself recognized in international chaos where powers of evil domination and imperialism have prevailed, Egypt stands firmly to preserve her sovereignty. Your country stands solidly and staunchly to preserve her dignity against imperialistic schemes of a number of nations who have uncovered their desires for domination and supremacy.

In these days and in such circumstances Egypt has resolved to show the world that when small nations decide to preserve their sovereignty, they will do that all right and that when these small nations are fully determined to defend their rights and maintain their dignity, they will undoubtedly succeed in achieving their ends. . . .

I am speaking in the name of every Egyptian Arab and in the name of all free countries and of all those who believe in liberty and are ready to defend it. I am speaking in the name of principles proclaimed by these countries in the Atlantic Charter. But they are now violating these principles and it has become our lot to shoulder the responsibility of reaffirming and establishing them anew. . . .

We have tried by all possible means to cooperate with those countries which claim to assist smaller nations and which promised to collaborate with us but they demanded their fees in advance. This we refused so they started to fight with us. They said they will pay toward building the High Dam and then they withdrew their offer and cast doubts on the Egyptian economy. Are we to declaim [disclaim?] our sovereign right? Egypt insists her sovereignty must remain intact and refuses to give up any part of that sovereignty for the sake of money.

Egypt nationalized the Egyptian Suez Canal company. When Egypt granted the concession to de Lesseps it was stated in the concession between the Egyptian Government and the Egyptian company that the company of the Suez Canal is an Egyptian company subject to Egyptian authority. Egypt nationalized this Egyptian company and declared freedom of navigation will be preserved.

But the imperialists became angry. Britain and France said Egypt grabbed the Suez Canal as if it were part of France or Britain. The British Foreign Secretary forgot that only two years ago he signed an agreement stating the Suez Canal is an integral part of Egypt.

Egypt declared she was ready to negotiate. But as soon as negotiations began threats and intimidations started. . . .

Eden stated in the House of Commons there shall be no discrimination between states using the canal. We on our part reaffirm that and declare there is no discrimination between canal users. He also said Egypt shall not be allowed to succeed because that would spell success for Arab nationalism and would be against their policy, which aims at the protection of Israel.

Today they are speaking of a new association whose main objective would be to rob Egypt of the canal and deprive her of rightful canal dues. Suggestions made by Eden in the House of Commons which have been backed by France and the United States are a clear violation of the 1888 convention, since it is impossible to have two bodies organizing navigation in the canal. . . .

By stating that by succeeding, Abdel Nasser would weaken Britain : s stand against Arab nationalism, Eden is in fact admitting his real objective is not Abdel Nasser as such but rather to defeat Arab nationalism and crush its cause. Eden speaks and finds his own answer. A month ago he let out the cry that be was after Abdel Nasser. Today the Egyptian people are fully conscious of their sovereign rights and Arab nationalism is fully awakened to its new destiny....

Those who attack Egypt will never leave Egypt alive. We shall fight a regular war, a total war, a guerrilla war. Those who attack Egypt will soon realize they brought disaster upon themselves. He who attacks Egypt attacks tile whole Arab world. They say in their papers the -whole thing will be over in forty-eight hours. They do not know how strong we really are.

We believe in international law. But we will never submit. We shall show the world bow a small country can stand in the face of great powers threatening with armed might. Egypt might be a small power but she is great inasmuch as she has faith in her power and convictions. I feel quite certain every Egyptian shares the same convictions as I do and believes in everything I am stressing now.

We shall defend our freedom and independence to the last drop of our blood. This is the stanch feeling of every Egyptian. The whole Arab nation will stand by us in our common fight against aggression and domination. Israel: 'Turkey is a terror-supporting state'

As a reminder:

Israeli official to Clinton: 'Declare Turkey a terror-supporting state'

2 September 2011

A hawkish Israeli politician reportedly wrote a letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday, asking the US to declare Turkey a terror-supporting state, the Jerusalem Post reported early on Friday.

Danny Danon, who is also deputy Knesset speaker, wrote a letter to Clinton after Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu warned Israel to apologize until the UN releases its report in which he called on Washington to impose sanctions on Turkey and call it a terror-supporting state.

"Turkey has gotten closer to Iran and constitutes a direct continuation of the axis of evil. The government in Washington must answer the Turkish problem before it is too late," Danon wrote, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The Israeli official called for economic and diplomatic sanctions against Turkey until Ankara changes its ways and abandons what he said “the way of terror.”

"The Turks have crossed the line. They supported the flotilla, they support terror and they dare to ask Israel to apologize to them," Danon said.

Note: US. president Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for terrorist attacks in Syria. Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an "intelligence finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust the Syrian government. C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed. It proves once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Turkish prime minister Erdogan brands Syria a ‘terrorist state’

Turkey.Terrorist.State.syrian.planes.jpeg

“The regime in Syria has now become a terrorist state,” Mr Erdogan declared on September 5, 2012, at a meeting of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development party. “We do not have the luxury to be indifferent to what is happening there.”

The military poker game of NATO

After US and UK, Germany is the largest weapons supplier to Turkey

October 4, 2012

NATO members have both sold and donated a wide range of weapons to Turkey, including more than 500 combat aircraft, 500 combat helicopters, 5,000 tanks, and thousands of artillery pieces, mortars, machine guns and assault rifles. The United States has been Turkey's main supplier, providing about 80% of Turkey's arsenal. Over the past decade (up to 1995), the US Congress has appropriated $5.3 billion in military aid (grants and loans to purchase weapons) for Turkey, making Turkey the third largest recipient of US military aid (after Israel and Egypt).

Turkey has recently invited bids for the supply of four early warning aircraft (AWACS) (mid-1998). The contract is worth around $1 billion. The aircraft would enable Turkey not only to command and control its own airspace but also that of the surrounding region. Likely suppliers are Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grunman, and Israel Aircraft Industries.

After US and UK, Germany is the largest weapons supplier to Turkey. Germany is currently trying to sell Turkey 1,000 Leopard II main battlefield tanks.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said some weeks ago that Britain steps up its support for terrrorists in Syria, providing them with an additional £5 million (US$7.8 million).

Over 30,000 various weapons, including boxes of gunshots with the words "NATO BALL" have been channelled to Syria. The overall amount of explosives makes up 300 tons. The deliveries were made by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They depend on the United States, which is making every effort to overpower Syria.

1914 - The Ottoman Empire Enters WWI on the side of the Central Powers

The Ottoman Empire joined the Central Powers to form the Triple Alliance with the signing of the August 1914 Turco-German Alliance. Turkey formally entered World War I on 28 October 1914 with the bombing of Russian Black Sea ports. The Triple Entente, or Allied Powers, declared war on the Ottoman Empire on November 4.

Two major factors led to Ottoman involvement on the side of the Central Powers: German pressure and the opportunism of Turkish minister of war Enver Pasha. Other motives for joining the Central Powers were the German victories early in the War and Turkey's friction with the Triple Entente. Germany's aim was clear: to keep Turkey from joining the enemy (and by gaining Ottoman support, encourage Romania and Bulgaria to enter the Alliance). The German military mission of 1913 to Turkey under Liman von Sanders organized the Turkish army and navy under German leadership and brought forth the Turco-German Alliance. The secret treaty (only five people in Turkey were aware of it, one being Enver Pasha) was signed 2 August 1914.

When did Hitler rearm Germany ?

February 1933

In February 1933, days after Hitler came to power, Hitler instructed the German general, von Fritsch to end German disarmament and to 'create an army of the greatest possible strength'. Germany began a remarkable increase in its level of weaponry that was to gather momentum during the mid-1930's. By July 1933, tanks were being produced and by 1934 Germany was making aircrafts and warships. The production of military aircraft rose from 36 planes in 1932 to 1,938 planes in 1934 and 5,112 planes in 1936. In 1935, Hitler introduced conscription and began to increase massively the number of soldiers in the German army.

Britain Tells Germany to Rearm - What would Churchill say?

May 8, 2012

Britain’s military establishment has a shockingly shallow grasp of history. British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond said Germany must recognize “that it can’t continue to be the dominant economy in Europe without also significantly increasing its military capability,” after talks with his German counterpart Thomas de Maiziere in Germany, May 2.

Hammond chastised Germany for its “historic reluctance to deploy and operate overseas” and called on it to deliver “more usable firepower” to nato.

This view goes beyond the defense minister. On May 4, the House of Lords European Union Committee published a report on European defense, where it drew the same conclusions. For the EU to have “an effective security and defense policy,” Germany must play a bigger role, it said.

It sees America pulling its military out of Europe, making cuts and focusing on the Pacific. “Europe really does have to start to get its act together, and the only player that’s really missing in that is Germany, Europe’s powerhouse,” the chairmen of the committee, Lord Teverson, told bbc Radio 4’s Today program.

Even America takes the same view. Former U.S. representative to nato Nicolas Burns testified before the Lords committee. “The U.S. was, however, concerned about the diminishing budgets of most of its European allies, especially Germany, Italy and Spain,” the committee’s report states. “Ambassador Burns was particularly critical of Germany’s low level of spending on defense. Germany should make a greater commitment to collective defense and the modernization of its own military, and be more willing to deploy in difficult areas.”

U.S. President Barack Obama made similar statements last year, when he told German Chancellor Angela Merkel: “The world today does not fear a strong Germany. It is, rather, disappointed when Germany is too reserved.”

The committee also encouraged Britain to support more cooperation on defense within the EU. Their report states that Britain should drop its longstanding opposition to an EU operational headquarters.

Lord Teverson dismissed any concerns about Germany’s history by saying the war was over 60 years ago, and that even today, Eastern Europe is more worried about Russia.

How shallow. In a deeper view of history, 60 years is not that long.

The famous document agreed by Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin at the Yalta Conference read: “It is our inflexible purpose to destroy German militarism and Nazism and to ensure that Germany will never again be able to disturb the peace of the world” (emphasis added).

The document goes on to use phrases like “break up for all time.” These men were thinking in longer terms than just 60 years.

Winston Churchill repeatedly warned about the rise of Germany, prior to World War ii. These warnings, based on Germany’s history, were ignored...
