Palestinian people is deeply grateful to the United States

card.Palestine.jpg

1) On November 15, 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for urging his cabinet to accept a U.S. proposal to extend a freeze on West Bank settlement building for 90 days. Under the plan, Washington would block UN resolutions critical of Israel, and supply Israel with fighter jets worth $3 billion. The US government also promised Israel that after the 90-day moratorium, they would not seek an extension, and settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (all of which is illegal under international law) could continue unabated.

2) In February 2011, more than 100 nations voted for a U.N. resolution that would have condemned illegal Israeli settlements and halted any new construction. The United States vetoed it.

3) On February 19, 2011, Israel said it was 'deeply grateful to the United States' after it vetoed a United Nations resolution put forward by the Palestinian leadership condemning Israeli settlement activity.

4) On  Oct 27, 2011, Israeli jetfighters engaged in aerial bombing of the Palestinian city of Khan Yunes in the Gaza Strip.

5) Israel plans now to build unspecified thousands of new settler units in the controversial strip of land known as E1 around Al Quds...

U.S. Human Rights: farmers in India

obama-monsanto.lobyist.jpg

Over the past 15 years, a scourge of suicides has claimed the lives of an estimated 250,000 farmers in India. And the death count is still climbing, according to a new report by the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHRGJ) at New York University.

“On average, one farmer commits suicide every 30 minutes in India,” said Smita Narula, director of the CHRGJ and co-author of the report, “Every Thirty Minutes: Farmer Suicides, Human Rights, and the Agrarian Crisis in India.”

The report, which focuses primarily on small cotton farmers in India, identifies several likely sources and potential solutions to the suicide epidemic in India. In my view, it gets both of these at least partially wrong.

Generally speaking, the report suggests multinational agribusiness, market reforms and a ludicrously inadequate policy response to the crisis on the part of the Indian government are among the culprits contributing to the tragedy.

While structural market reforms and ineffective government policy clearly has contributed to the suicide epidemic, the claim that multinational companies bear at least part of the blame for these tragedies not only flies in the face of the evidence but is also likely to have perverse consequences.

The analysis suggests that foreign multinational corporations promoting genetically modified cottonseed in India are impinging on the rights of small farmers in India.

The opening of Indian agriculture to the global market and the increasing role of multinational agribusiness giants in cotton production have increased costs, while reducing yields and profits for many farmers, to the point of great financial and emotional distress.

The report singles out Monsanto, a biotechnology and life sciences company based in St. Louis, Mo., as an example of multinational misconduct.

Bt cotton seeds are genetically modified to produce an insecticide that kills Bollworm, a common cotton pest in India. In 2002, the government of India allowed Monsanto to start selling Bt cotton to farmers in India. In the years since, Bt cotton has pervaded cotton farming in India.

EU sanctions on Syria responsible for Syrians' sufferings

Al-Moallem Stresses to Amos: US, EU Sanctions on Syria Responsible for Syrians' Sufferings

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem, on Saturday stressed that the sanctions imposed by the US and EU countries on Syria are responsible for the sufferings of the Syrian people, calling upon the UN to condemn these sanctions and urge these countries to cancel them.

Al-Moallem's remarks came during a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Valerie Amos.

The two sides expressed relief over the humanitarian response plan in Syria, which is a positive expression of the standing cooperation between Syria and the UN.

Minister al-Moallem clarified that Syria appreciates the efforts exerted by the UN offices in the state, as he also urged the UN official to expand the Organization's cooperation to include the fields of reconstructing and rehabilitating the infrastructure, such as hospitals and others, which have been destroyed by the armed terrorist groups.

He expressed the Syrian government's desire to coordinate with the UN to deliver humanitarian aid to those affected due to the attacks of the armed terrorist groups on the public and private properties.

For her part, Amos expressed high appreciation of the Syrian government's efforts in its humanitarian work and the facilitations it provides to the tasks of the UN office, as she also stressed that her Damascus office will continue to provide humanitarian aid in coordination with the Syrian government.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, Director of International Organizations and Conferences Department at the Ministry and the delegation accompanying Amos.

Amos Meets Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs

Later, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Jassim Mohammad Zakarya, met with Amos and discussed with her the standing cooperation mechanisms between the government and the UN organizations working in the humanitarian domain.

20121215-173229.jpg

Minister Zakarya told the journalists following the meeting that the talks touched upon the efforts exerted by the Higher Relief Committee and its branches in the provinces in terms of coordinating the relief and humanitarian efforts on the local and external levels, in addition to means of overcoming the obstacles that hinder the delivery of aid to the affected citizens inside and outside the temporary shelter centers.

The Minister added that he also reviewed the financial aid provided directly by the government to the NGOs to carry out their duties towards the affected families, calling upon the UN humanitarian bodies to put more efforts to help the Syrians who were forced to leave the country fleeing the armed terrorist groups.

The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator also held a meeting with Minister of State for the National Reconciliation Affairs, Ali Haidar, the humanitarian response plan in Syria and the role played by the international organizations in this regard.

20121215-173320.jpg

"The international organizations have not offered what is required so far, and they are still exploiting the humanitarian aid issue for political purposes," Haidar said in a statement to the journalists following the meeting.

He called upon these organizations to act with credibility in providing aid to the Syrian people via the government and the civil organizations working in the field of relief.

After the phrase of "Here's Damascus" that covered «Facebook», Syrians announced their solidarity to Damascus by rejecting the opposition coalition as the only representative for the Syrian People, where the "Friends of Syria" announced in their fourth meeting in Marrakesh their recognition of the coalition.

The Campaign of "Here's Damascus" came by Syrians to reveal their solidarity with Damascus after the news stopped from the capital due to the suspension of the internet for several days.

Syrians have published phrases on the Facebook to announce rejecting the recognition in three languages; English, French and Arabic:

I am Syrian and the coalition does not represent me.

Je suis Syrien et la coalition ne me représente pas.

German Patriot air defense missiles on Turkish border with Syria

The defence ministers of NATO member states decided on February 2, 2012 in Brussels that the command centre of the missile defence system would be located at the Headquarters Allied Air Command Ramstein, Germany. The German defence minister, Thomas de Maizière, also announced that the German Patriot systems would become part of the NATO missile 'defence' system...

Germany's cabinet authorized on December 6, 2012, the stationing of German Patriot air defense missiles on the Turkish border with Syria as part of a NATO mission to help 'protect' Turkey from possible cross-border attacks. The mission will involve up to 400 troops from the German military, the Bundeswehr, and also includes personnel for AWACS surveillance aircraft and commando units.

Germany on Monday expelled four employees of the Syrian embassy in Berlin, the foreign minister said, as part of moves to further isolate the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Nato-Germany expels four Syrian embassy staff

Nato-Germany.pars-3-lr-fire-and-forget-missile-lg.jpg

December 11, 2012

Germany on Monday expelled four employees of the Syrian embassy in Berlin, the foreign minister said, as part of moves to further isolate the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

This decision is not coming as a surprise.
It is the result of Germany's growing role within NATO and the 'Greater Middle East'.

After September 11, 2001 German military missions and deployments were expanded exponentially and in addition to Germany deploying AWACS to the US in Operation Eagle Assist it also “took part in [Operation Active Endeavor] which has German units monitor the Mediterranean waters…. In Afghanistan and East Africa, German troops battle…with sea units, ground troops and special forces.

“The Bundeswehr, once restricted by the German constitution to exclusively domestic protection, can now send armed troops to foreign countries.

Having exploited as well as in an integral way engineered the breakup of Yugoslavia, with Kosovo as the altar and Serbia as the paschal lamb whose slaying wiped clean decades of German guilt, Berlin was now free to play the role assigned to it by NATO: That of an international military power operating on four continents, a far wider range of deployment and engagement than had been achieved by either Bismarck or Hitler.

The defence ministers of NATO member states decided on 2 February 2012 in Brussels that the command centre of the missile defence system would be located at the Headquarters Allied Air Command Ramstein, Germany. The German defence minister, Thomas de Maizière, also announced that the German Patriot systems would become part of the NATO missile 'defence' system.

Full production for German army missile

The PARS 3 LR fire-and-forget missile by Europe's MBDA is heading into full production for the German military.

Full-rate production for the weapon, the main armament of the German Army's Tiger helicopter, is the result of successful completion last month of system validation tests.

MBDA said that in the tests, a tank passing between buildings was struck by the missile, which was fired by a helicopter about 1.8 miles away.

"The successful conclusion of the firing campaign sends a strong signal to our national customers and potential export customers", said Thomas Homberg, managing director of MBDA Germany. "This guided missile system will make an important contribution to the Bundeswehr, enabling it to fulfill the demanding missions it is expected to perform even better in the future."

The missile's production will be carried out by PARSYS, a joint venture between MBDA Germany and Diehl BGT Defense under a contract from the German Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement.

A total of 680 missiles are to be produced for the German Army.

Germany's cabinet authorized on December 6, 2012, the stationing of German Patriot air defense missiles on the Turkish border with Syria as part of a NATO mission to help protect Turkey from possible cross-border attacks. The mission will involve up to 400 troops from the German military, the Bundeswehr, and also includes personnel for AWACS surveillance aircraft and commando units...

China and Russia issue joint communique

6.12.2012.Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin.jpg

December 7, 2012

MOSCOW, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- China and Russia on Thursday issued a joint communique on wide-ranging cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

The document was released after the 17th regular meeting of the two countries' heads of government, co-chaired by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

The two leaders spoke highly of the important role the mechanism of regular meeting between Chinese and Russian prime ministers has played in the development of China-Russia relations.

They reviewed the achievements and experience in bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation in politics, economy and trade, energy, science and technologies, culture, and also in major international and regional affairs.

The two sides stressed that bilateral relations have made major progress.

The two countries witnessed frequent high-level exchanges, firmly supported each other on issues concerning the other's core interests such as sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and solved their border disputes, which has laid a solid legal foundation for bilateral ties.

China and Russia have witnessed steady and rapid development of pragmatic cooperation in various areas, as the social basis of bilateral ties has been enormously consolidated and the two countries have moved in coordination on major international and regional issues.

China and Russia always make developing relations with each other a priority of their foreign relations and see each other as major cooperation partner.

The two prime ministers pledged commitment to further deepening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination based on equality and trust, expand pragmatic cooperation in all fields so as to promote sustainable development of the two countries and contribute to the peace and stability of the region and the whole world as well.

TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION

Amid a fluctuating world economy and international trade, China and Russia have maintained sustained and stable development in bilateral trade and economic ties, the two premiers said.

To keep this positive momentum, they proposed that the two countries will constantly optimize their trade structure, strengthen investment cooperation, intensify communication in border areas and at local level, expand cooperation in high-tech and innovation, and promote contacts between the two countries' businesses.

The two sides agreed to take Russia's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) as an opportunity to further develop bilateral economic and trade cooperation and enhance coordination within the framework of the WTO.

They will diversify the variety of traded goods between the two countries and scale up export of advanced mechanical and high-tech products, help the two countries' enterprises to build partnerships and bring the role of institutions supporting export into full play.

They will seek to bring bilateral investment cooperation to a higher level, with a focus on large-scale cooperation projects. They will also improve investment environment and increase related communication.

The two sides also agreed to speed up efforts to draw up a cooperation plan on the utilization of forest resources and prepare a solid ground for China-Russia cooperation in the intensive processing of timber inside Russia.

The two countries will support their enterprises in cooperating in the production and processing of aluminum in accordance with business principles, and promote exchanges between the two countries' pharmacy industries.

They will also strengthen agricultural cooperation and expand technology cooperation in priority sectors such as new energy, energy efficiency, information and telecommunication, nano industry, new materials, sustainable use of natural resources, agricultural technologies, modern manufacturing, bio-technologies, among others.

They will continue to coordinate in the implementation of cooperative projects on civil aircraft manufacturing and enhance bilateral cooperation in astronautics.

The two countries will also work jointly to improve cross-border transportation infrastructure in a bid to boost bilateral trade volume. The two sides will also have discussions on the further development of ties between their aviation industries.

ENERGY COOPERATION

Wen and Medvedev spoke highly of the results of bilateral energy cooperation and expressed the willingness to conduct further cooperation in areas such as natural gas, oil, electricity, coal, the peaceful use of nuclear energy and renewable resources.

The two sides said they support authorized companies in carrying out dialogue on natural gas so as to start transporting Russian gas to China at an early date and ensure the long-term stable and safe operation of China-Russia oil pipelines.

They are also willing to expand cooperation in the exploitation and processing of oil and gas.

The two prime ministers welcomed a revised roadmap of coal cooperation between the two countries and noted with satisfaction that Russia's electricity export to China grows continuously.

The two countries will mull further expansion of their cooperation on electricity, including the construction of power plants in Russia.

They also expressed support for further cooperation between the two countries in the comprehensive and peaceful use of nuclear energy, under the precondition of ensuring nuclear safety and based on the principle of mutual benefit and reciprocal accommodation of each other's interests.

The two sides also emphasized the need to intensify bilateral cooperation in environmental protection. They pledged to promote joint efforts in monitoring water quality in cross-border water systems, preserving bio-diversity in cross-border natural zones, and to prevent pollution and eliminate impacts of environmental disasters in a timely manner.

CULTURAL COOPERATION

The prime ministers were satisfied with the rapid development of China-Russia cooperation in culture, and approved the implementation of the action plan for cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides stressed that they have great significance to enhance communications between the two countries' youths and make it a long-term mechanism. Big thematic and sports activities involving the two countries' representative youth groups will be held in the next five years.

The leaders spoke highly of the Tourism Year of Russia held in China and pledged to work closely to ensure the success of the Tourism Year of China to be held in Russia next year.

The two sides will step up education cooperation, receive more students from the other country, enhance the joint training of high-level talents, and successfully carry out programs celebrating each other's culture or promoting languages.

The two sides will also strengthen cooperation in the fields of infectious disease control, recuperation, traditional medicine and disaster medicine.

The two sides will encourage participation of local movies in international film festivals hosted by each other, and the two countries' film making institutions will co-produce films in the subjects of common interests.

The two sides will continue to boost cooperation in archives, including supporting the joint survey research programs on the two countries' history and bilateral relations.

While on border issues, the two leaders believed the first joint inspection of the China-Russia border, which started in 2011, is conducive to ensuring the stability of bordering areas and has further enhanced the two countries' good-neighborly relations.

The two sides agreed to start formal negotiation in the first half of 2013 on a navigation pact of Chinese and Russian ships in the surrounding water of Heixiazi Island (Tarabarov Island and Bolshoi Ussuriysky Island).

The two premiers stressed that China-Russia strategic cooperation has a great significance for the promotion of world's peace and development, against the backdrop of profound changes in the global landscape.

As responsible members of the international community, Russia and China will continue to safeguard the fruits of World War II and the postwar political order, comply with the U.N. Charter and the basic principles of the international law, push the international political and economic order toward a fair and equitable development.

The two leaders reiterated that China and Russia have the same or similar stance on a wide range of global issues and will increase coordination on urgent international issues and in multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, Group of 20, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS, the grouping of major emerging economies.

They also expressed willingness to increase coordination in Asia-Pacific and jointly push for the establishment of a new concept of security featuring mutual trust, mutual benefit, and equality.

They called on countries in the region to adhere to the principle of non-alliance and abide by basic norms of the international law, to be open and tolerant and treat each other as equal and not to damage interests of other countries while safeguarding its own.

While recalling an array of documents signed between China and Russia during the 17th regular meeting of prime ministers, Wen and Medvedev approved results achieved by various bilateral cooperative platforms and praised their improving efficiency.

The two leaders agreed that the next regular meeting between the two countries' heads of government will be held in China in 2013. The specific date will be decided through diplomatic channels.

Middle East, Asia: The U.S. is not interested to solve conflicts

China circled by chain of US anti-missile systems

February 22, 2010

Washington appears determined to surround China with US-built anti-missile systems, military scholars have observed.

According to US-based Defense News, Taiwan became the fifth global buyer of the Patriot missile defense system last year following Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Germany.

Quite a few military experts have noted that Washington's latest proposed weapon deal with Taiwan is the key part of a US strategic encirclement of China in the East Asian region, and that the missiles could soon have a footprint that extends from Japan to the Republic of Korea and Taiwan.

Air force colonel Dai Xu, a renowned military strategist, wrote in an article released this month that "China is in a crescent-shaped ring of encirclement. The ring begins in Japan, stretches through nations in the South China Sea to India, and ends in Afghanistan. Washington's deployment of anti-missile systems around China's periphery forms a crescent-shaped encirclement".

Ni Lexiong, an expert on military affairs with the Shanghai Institute of Political Science and Law, told the Guanghzou Daily yesterday, "The US anti-missile system in China's neighborhood is a replica of its strategy in Eastern Europe against Russia. The Obama administration began to plan for such a system around China after its project in Eastern Europe got suspended".

Tang Xiaosong, director of the Center of International Security and Strategy Studies with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies noted that the ring encircling China can also be expanded at any time in other directions. He said that Washington is hoping to sell India and other Southeast Asian countries the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC)-3 missile defense system.

Analysts say that China is closely monitoring US-India missile defense cooperation since any integration of India into the US global missile defense system, would profoundly affect China's security.

However, according to former Chinese Ambassador to India Pei Yuanying, India is unlikely to be part of any such US scheme against China.

"New Delhi needs to develop relations with the US, but it wants to be an independent international power on the international arena," he said.

Pei said it was necessary to take multiple aspects of China-US relations into consideration. "The US has followed the policy of engagement plus containment with China for a long time and that overall policy will not change during Obama's term," he said.

Defense News quoted John Holly, Lockheed's vice president of Missile Defense Systems as saying the outlook for the missile defense market remains sound.

Pointing to missile programs in Pyongyang, Teheran, Moscow and Beijing, Holly said "the world is not a very safe world and it is incumbent upon us in the industry to provide (the Pentagon) with the best capabilities."

Beijing has frequently criticized US missile-defense development and has been making efforts to restrict missile defenses through the United Nations forums.

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told a UN disarmament conference in August in Geneva that "countries should neither seek for absolute strategic predominance nor develop missile-defense systems that undermine global strategic stability."

The U.S. is not interested to solve conflicts but to create new ones

July 26, 2010

The United States' attempts to engage more deeply with Asia looks set to take it into the troubled area of territorial disputes in the South China Sea, opening a new front in tensions between Washington and Beijing.

At the region's main strategic dialogue, the ASEAN Regional Forum meeting in Hanoi at the end of last week, the U-S Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered to mediate disputes between China and its neighbours over several sets of strategically significant islands. She delivered a win for host country Vietnam, which wants the disputes deal with multilaterally, leaving China angry.

China, ASEAN have confidence in keeping peace in South China Sea: vice minister

November 17, 2012

China and the ASEAN have both confidence and ability to safeguard the peace and stability in the South China Sea and boost regional development and prosperity, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said Saturday.

China has maintained close communication with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states on the establishment of a code of conduct in the South China Sea, she said.

China holds an open attitude toward discussions on establishing the code of conduct, she said while briefing the media on Premier Wen Jiabao's upcoming attendance at a series of meetings for East Asian leaders.

Meanwhile, China is committed to the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC), according to Fu.

"China has a persistent and clear stance on the sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and their adjacent waters," Fu said. "We always hold that disputes in the South China Sea should be resolved peacefully via negotiations and consultations."

Fu urged all relevant parties to maintain restraint and avoid actions that undermine peace and stability in the region.

Through many rounds of dialogue, China and the ASEAN member states have arrived at the consensus that the South China Sea issue should be discussed under the China-ASEAN cooperation framework, she said.

"As the forthcoming ASEAN summits will serve as a platform for nations in the region to deepen mutual trust and strengthen cooperation, we hope countries at the meetings can focus on the issues of development and cooperation instead of getting off the right rail," Fu said.

China and the ASEAN have the confidence and ability to safeguard the peace and stability in the South China Sea and boost regional development and prosperity, according to the vice minister.

The series of meetings for East Asian leaders will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from Nov. 18-21. The meetings include the 15th summit between China and the ASEAN, as well as the 15th summit between the ASEAN, China, Japan and the ROK and the 7th East Asia Summit.

Syria Will Remain a Free and Prosperous Country

President of International Academy Mihai Eminescu in Bucharest: Syria Will Remain a Free and Prosperous Country

Dec 10, 2012 - BUCHAREST, (SANA) – President of the International Academy "Mihai Eminescu" in Bucharest, Prof. Ion Diaconescu, affirmed that Syria was and always will be a free and prosperous country and a friend of the world's peoples, stressing that Syria has the power and the ability to show everyone that it will rebuilt a strong, free and democratic country.

In a statement to SANA on Monday, Diaconescu said that any war, regardless of its goals, is in itself a destruction of human life and a ruination of civilization, with both sides of any war paying an expensive price.

He said that after Iraq, Egypt and Libya, Syria is now being threatened from all sides, and that the suffering of the peaceful Syrian people is increasing every day, wondering what could justify violence and barbarism and why foreign forces would be sent to destroy a peaceful country that never hurt anyone.

"It's time for those who respect peace, love and history to rise up and raise theur voices against those invaders," Diaconescu concluded.

Al-Qaeda Fighters into Syria through Turkish Borders

al-Qaeda Fighters.jpg

Dec. 10, 2012 - ANKARA, (SANA) – Turkish Yurt Newspaper and Sol Haber website revealed the entry of 200 al-Qaeda fighters and Jihadists from various nationalities into Syria through the  Turkish borders onboard a Turkish plane that landed in Antakya Airport without registering the flight officially at the airport.

The newspaper quoted Republican People's Party MP, Mehmet Ali Ediboglu, as saying that the plane,  which belongs to the Turkish Airlines and owned by Anadolu Jet Company, landed in Antakya Airport last Friday with 200 multi-national al-Qaeda fighters onboard.

He added that the fighters did not make any official procedures that prove they entered Turkey after leaving the plane, and they were transferred to the Syrian borders.

Ediboglu pointed out that this scandal constitutes new evidence that the government of the Development and Justice Party is supporting the terrorist crimes committed in Syria.

Meanwhile, Sol Haber website said that MP Ediboglu submitted an interpellation note at the parliament against Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin about the Libyan ship, Intisar, which carried weapons and ammunitions to the armed terrorist groups in Syria and docked in Iskenderun Port last August.

Syria: Hillary Clinton concerned about Russia

How.americans.nato.control.russia.territory.map.jpg

In 2006, three months after the Cuban Missile Crisis the United States secretly removed all its nuclear missiles from Turkey and Italy.

On September 17th, 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama announced that he will be offering a new missile defense system in Eastern Europe, discontinuing the system set up by President George W. Bush. The Eastern Europe missile system “has caused an increase in tensions between NATO and the Russian Government,” a UK House of Commons Library paper noted. The system “would consist of missiles based on US warships based in the Mediterranean ”, the paper added.

Three years later, the system is augmented by land-based missiles based in Romania and Poland and a radar system based in Turkey.

Actually, US and NATO deploy missile 'defense' systems in Turkey and Eastern Europe.

Our correspondent stated that 20 members of al-Qaeda linked al-Nusra front, including Abed al-Hamid Asloun and Zaher al-Rida, were killed during severe clashes with the Syrian Army in Ma’aret al-Nu’man.

Our reporter pointed out that the militants threw bombs and explosive charges, using a catapult, on al-Tarma neighborhood of Harem city, which resulted in injuries of civilians.

The correspondent of Breaking News Network affirmed that 8 insurgents of al-Qaeda linked Ahrar al-Sham battalions, including Ahmad Hussein, were killed in al-Rami town.

U.S. is responsible for weapening of so called 'opposition groups' in Syria

Some time ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian armed groups and terrorists seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government.  Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust Assad.  C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey.  Weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The Pentagon comes now with the story of the 'Syrian chemical weapons' to increase the military pressure on Syria. The United States, Britain and France have used incessantly chemical weapons against civilians during their imperial wars of the past decades...

Russia Keeps Black Sea Fleet Ships In Mediterranean

December 7, 2012

Return of Black Sea Fleet ships to base postponed – General Staff

MOSCOW: The return of Russian Black Sea Fleet ships from their Mediterranean cruise has been suspended until further instructions from the General Staff, a sources at the General Staff has told Itar-Tass.

“In view of the changed situation in the region the group has been ordered to stay in the Aegean Sea before the zone of straits until further instructions,” the source said.

“The decision to keep the Black Sea Fleet group near the straits is due to the unstable situation in the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian ships may get more instructions soon. For the time being they will stay in the Aegean Sea until further notice. It is not ruled out that they may return to the previous region of the active service mission,” the source said.

He recalled that the Black Sea Fleet’s flagship – the missile-carrying cruiser The Moskva – was expected to pass through the Black Sea straits first to head for Sevastopol. The other combat and support ships of the group were to follow.

“However, on Thursday the cruiser was ordered to stay in the Aegian Sea. The same instructions were given to the other ships,” the source said.

Google as Pentagon contractor

Barack Obama speaking at Google HQ in 2007.jpg

Aug 31, 2010

Google’s emergence as a major defense contractor was underscored last week when the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency tweaked its Aug. 20 announcement of a sole-source contract to the search giant for visualization services.

The announcement, reported by Fox News, prompted a Microsoft protest that its Bing Map Server could do the job. The NGA then changed the wording of the announcement–without really changing its meaning. The revised NGA announcement, noted NextGov, “went to great lengths to clarify that only Google Earth meets it requirements.”

The amount of the NGA contract was not disclosed.

The revised announcement shows how the government’s geospatial intelligence capabilities are inextricably linked to Google Earth.

As Fox News’ James Rosen noted:

“Google Earth came into being only after Google’s 2004 acquisition of Keyhole, a company that was in part funded by In-Q-Tel, the venture capital firm run by the CIA. And those firms, along with Microsoft, tend to purchase their aerial imagery principally from two other companies: DigitalGlobe and GeoEye. Those firms on Aug, 6 received federal contracts worth close to $4 billion each, in order to collaborate on a next-generation satellite that can deliver even more detailed imagery — money that was awarded by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.”

Will Google’s dependence on secret Pentagon contracts affect its corporate decision-making? How could it not?

Clinton warns Syria 'not to use chemical weapons'

children.chemicals.Vietnam.jpg

Hillary Clinton thinks she can justify an American military intervention in Syria by a story about the 'desperate President Assad who might use chemical weapons'...

Some of the children more prone to wandering off at night or harming the other children are kept in locked iron cages overnight and during afternoon naps. The majority of the children will 'live' their entire lives at a center.

Syria: Hillary Clinton's absurd story about 'chemical weapons'

u-s-secretary-of-state-hillary-clinton-speaks-during-a-news-conference-at-the-nato-headquarters-in-brussels-december-5-2012.jpg

On December 6, 2012, the US and Britain claimed that President Assad 'might use chemical weapons' and they urged Russia to put pressure on President Assad.

But Assad's government again insisted it would not use such weapons. Syrian officials accused the US and European countries of to create the false impression that they would, in order to justify a military intervention.

Meanwhile the U.S. aircraft carrier 'Dwight D Eisenhower' has arrived off the shores of Syria.

The multipurpose nuclear attack carrier is leading the naval assault group which has arrived in the eastern Mediterranean.

It is in close proximity to the coast of Syria. On board the ship are 70 fighter-bombers and a total 8,000 US servicemen.

The Dwight D Eisenhower joined the amphibious assault helicopter carrier Iwo Jima, which has been in the area for almost two weeks. In all there are now 17 Amercian warships off the Syrian coast.

Washington that is seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government,  leads an ongoing propaganda war which is used to confuse and demoralize the Syrian government and also to influence public opinions in friendly countries.

Some time ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian armed groups and terrorists.

The Vietnam war ended 35 years ago, but children are still being born with.jpg

In the 3,160 villages in the southern part of Vietnam within the Agent Orange spraying zone, 800,000 people continue to suffer serious health problems and are in need of constant medical attention.

A third generation of Vietnamese are suffering deformities caused by US chemical warfare and still Washington refuses to accept responsibility.

"There is a move to re-Sovietise the region"...

As reported by the Financial Times, on Thursday, hours before meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told a news conference that the US is to prevent Russia from integrating more closely with its neighbors in Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

"There is a move to re-Sovietise the region," said the US Secretary of State. "It’s not going to be called that. It’s going to be called a customs union, it will be called Eurasian Union and all of that. But let's make no mistake about it. We know what the goal is and we are trying to figure out effective ways to slow down or prevent it."

On October 6, 2012, the Spanish government has agreed to participate in NATO's anti-missile shield that will see specialized United States warships based at a Spanish base already used by the U.S. Navy.

Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria said Spain and the U.S. had sealed the deal Friday to use the base in southwestern Spain as part of the shield, enabling four U.S. Navy destroyers and some 1,400 operators to be deployed at the base.
Moscow has long opposed the shield and called for binding guarantees from the U.S. and NATO that it will not target Russia.
The Pentagon also has units at Moron air base in southwest Spain, with a presence of some 4,250 military personnel and 1,000 civilians in the country.

'No-fly zones' of Nato: A 1 April joke ?

by Carlos Latuff. NATO bombs rock Tripoli.gif

1 Apr. 2011

'No-fly zones explained' by Nato...

Group Captain Geoff Booth, who took part in enforcing the no-fly zone (NFZ) over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, outlines what is needed of an aircrew during this kind of operation.

There are never going to be two similar operations,” explains Booth, “so you need to analyse the situation to develop a plan; the key thing is that you are basically policing someone else's airspace without their permission.

The questions are: what is the threat? how big is the area? why are you doing this – i.e. what do you stop?

This will almost certainly be a 24/7 operation, so it will require lots of resources. The question you then need to ask yourself is: what resources do you need versus what resources have you got?

There’s a requirement for surveillance; intelligence; tactical aircraft for air-to-air and possibly air-to-ground missions; bases which may include aircraft carriers; command and control; air-to-air refuelling (this is a "force multiplier" as it allows tactical aircraft to stay on task for much longer); commander's guidance and clear rules of engagement.”

What’s a typical routine?

This will be driven by when the contingent or squadron is on the Air Tasking Order (this is the operational flying programme). It also depends on capability, i.e. whether this is an operation for day only, day/night, clear weather, all weather. In other words, and for many missions, aircrew can be tasked at any time of the day or night

The mission preparation starts about four hours before take-off with a selection of briefings that include:

  • situation update;
  • current intelligence;
  • weather mission details (for example, where are supporting aircraft?);
  • Rules of Engagement;
  • SPINS (special instructions contained within the Air Tasking Order);
  • and emergency procedures, including in the event of ejecting over hostile territory

Aircrew then prepare their personal kit, which will include a combat survival vest, water and something to eat. They go to the aircraft about an hour prior to take-off and check all systems and weapons. A spare aircraft or two is always needed to ensure not missing operational tasks.

It is critical to take note of the support ground crew working on the aircraft before the aircrew arrive – these people are a key part of the team to get the operation started.

Post take-off, the aircrew’s routine tasks are normally:

  • Carry out further full check of all systems to ensure all is OK to enter the operational area;
  • Entering the area, check in with the controlling authority - probably AWACS - who will give a short tactical update;
  • Once "feet dry" i.e. over hostile territory, stand ready to react to whatever presents itself. If an aircraft enters the NFZ, determine whether it is authorised or not, whether it is "hostile" or has just entered the NFZ by mistake;
  • Use all sensors and build awareness for yourself, as well as all other players - particularly the AWACS;
  • React quickly, pass information if commander's decision or clearance needed, deal with whatever comes up on the watch;
  • Stay on task until relieved, use air-to-air refuelling if necessary. Typical time on task during Operation DENY FLIGHT in Bosnia and Herzegovina was 3 hours making it a 4-5 hour mission from start to finish;
  • Recover back to base safely, don't relax once "feet wet" – back home – to avoid the risk of making (dangerous) errors;
  • Hand the aircraft back to the engineers, report any problems or faults.

And then – and only then – can you start to wind down.
