The Guardian: US Citizen Who Fought in Libya Turns up in Aleppo

Nov 10, 2012

LONDON, (SANA) - The British newspaper The Guardian unveiled that an American, called Matthew VanDyke, who fought within the ranks of the armed militias in Libya turned up in Aleppo, north of Syria, and joined the armed terrorist groups there, claiming, though, to be filming a documentary.

In an article published on Friday, the newspapers said VanDyke, who fought alongside the armed Libyan militias against the government forces in Libya, "and who was detained in Tripoli's Abu Salim prison for six months before returning home to Baltimore in late 2011," has turned up in Aleppo within the ranks of the armed terrorist groups there.

VanDyke who claimed that he was just a journalist, admitted, according to the article, that "he is also advising the rebels on weaponry based on his experience in Libya."

He claimed that he had already been asked to fight on behalf of the Free Syrian Army, acknowledging that "he was also offering advice on weaponry, including the anti-aircraft Dushka machine guns he used while fighting in Libya."

Fighters against Ottoman Empire in Syria,.1916..jpg

History

Formed around 2500 BC, the Syrian civilization is one of the most ancient on earth, and is strategically placed along the eastern edges of the Mediterranean Sea at the doorway to Asia and the Middle East.

Damascus, the capital, historically called the Fragrant City, is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city on the planet, and to this day remains one of the most important cultural and political centers in the Arab world.

For endless centuries Syria was fought over and subsequently controlled by varied factions, including the Egyptian, Roman and Ottoman empires.

The Syrian economy struggled under Ottoman rule, and any attempts at rebuilding were destroyed by the Mongols.

After World War I ended, the Ottoman Turks were finally driven out, and the French influence began.

The French administered and exercised control of Syria until it finally gained its independence in 1946.

In the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, Syria lost the Golan Heights to Israel, and since then, both countries have occasionally discussed its return to Syria.

TARTOUS, (SANA) - Syria's grand Mufti Ahmad Badre al-Din Hassoun underlined that the acts of the armed terrorist groups, supported with money and weapons from the outside, will not affect the Syrian people's national stances and principles.

During a celebration to honor 106 families of the martyrs on Thursdayin Safita, Tartous, the Mufti hailed the sacrifices of the martyrs who offered their souls for the sake of the homeland.

He called on those who were misled to return to the right path in order to build Syria, affirming that the crisis is on the verge to end.

On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed.

US broadcaster NBC News reported in July that the so called 'Free Syrian Army' had obtained two dozen surface-to-air missiles (man-portable air-defence systems known as MANPADS), delivered via Turkey.

It proves once again that the Turkish government, in cooperation of NATO, is arming groups for terrorist bombings in Syria.

By undermining the political stability and the economy of Syria, they hope to control the country which is located at the crossroads between Africa, Europe and the Middle East

Syria News: Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan visits Germany...

warmakers.erdogan.merkel.jpg

Turkey is a historical ally of Germany

Turkey was favoured as a potential ally by Hitler because of its important strategic location on the boundaries of Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as its extensive history as a state hostile against the Russian Empire as well as the later Soviet Union.

To assure that Germany wanted to work with them on a long-range basis, the Turks were guaranteed an equal status in the German-dominated order, and were promised a number of territories which they might desire for reasons of security. These encompassed Edirne (Adrianople) and a rectification of Turkish frontiers at the expense of Greece, the creation of buffer states in the Caucasus under Turkish influence, a rectification of the Turkish-Syrian frontier (the Baghdad Railway and the State of Aleppo) and the Turkish-Iraq frontier (the Mosul region), as well as a settlement of "the Aegean question" to provide Turkey with suitable protection against encroachments from Italy. The Black Sea (which Hitler derided as "a mere frog-pond")was also to be conceded to Turkey as part of its sphere of influence, for this would ne:gate the need of stationing a German navy in the region to replace the Soviet Black Sea Fleet.

In November 2005, an agreement was signed for the sale of 298 German Army Leopard 2A4 tanks to Turkey. Turkey’s tank fleet is currently made up of American M-48s and M-60s, some of which have been modernized with Israeli cooperation into M-60 Sabra tanks, plus a large contingent of German Leopard 1s and Leopard 2s. That is hardy surprising. America and Germany are Turkey’s 2 most important geopolitical relationships, and this is reflected in Turkey’s choice of defense industry partners. The country’s industrial offset requirements ensure that these manufacturers have a long history of local partnerships to draw upon.

On November 1th, 2012, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip and his wife Emine arrived for a celebration to mark 50 years of Turkish immigration to Germany. Germany in the early 1960s, required foreign labour to fill its industrial workforce, and the influx of immigrants from Turkey, Italy, Greece and other south European countries made Germany's economic miracle possible. Today large numbers of Germans with Turkish roots are an integral part of German society.     Erdogan who declared war on Syria while he allows that Turkey is smuggling weapons for bomb attacks in Syria, had a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. In a very hypocritical way, Erdogan claimed: 'the terrorism issue was also discussed with Merkel and they have reiterated their support. European Union is absolutely against terrorism however we want to see results of this attitude'.

Latest News Syria: Nato's game is over

Germany.Lt. General I. Jurgen Bornemann.Military Representative to NATO.Germany) with General W. Schneiderhan.Chief of Defence,Germany..jpgThe geopolitical strategy of Nato seems a copy and an improvement of the plan of Nazi Germany...

From history

The New Order (German: Neuordnung) or the New Order of Europe (German: Neuordnung Europas) was the political order which Nazi Germany wanted to impose on Europe, and eventually the rest of the world. The establishment of the New Order was already begun long before the start of World War II, but was publicly proclaimed by Adolf Hitler in 1941: 'The year 1941 will be, I am convinced, the historical year of a great European New Order'.

Nazi Germany’s desire for aggressive territorial expansionism was one of the key triggers that led to the outbreak of World War II.
Historians are still divided as to its ultimate goals, some believing that it was to be limited to Nazi German domination of Europe, while others maintain that it was a springboard for eventual world conquest and the establishment of a world government under German control

“The Führer gave expression to his unshakable conviction that the Reich will be the master of all Europe. We shall yet have to engage in many fights, but these will undoubtedly lead to most wonderful victories. From there on the way to world domination is practically certain. Whoever dominates Europe will thereby assume the leadership of the world.”
Joseph Goebbels, 8 May 1943
---
The term Neuordnung originally had a different and more limited meaning than in its present usage. It is typically translated as New Order, but a more correct translation would actually be more akin to re-structurization. When it was used in Germany during the Third Reich-era it referred specifically to the Nazis' desire to essentially redraw the contemporary state borders within Europe, thereby changing the then-existing geopolitical structures.
---
Hitler’s ideas about eastward expansion that he promulgated in Mein Kampf were greatly influenced during his 1924 imprisonment by his contact with his geopolitical mentor Karl Haushofer.[11] One of Haushofer’s primary geopolitical concepts was the necessity for Germany to get control of the Eurasian Heartland in order for Germany to attain eventual world domination.
---
In a subsequently published speech given at Erlangen University in November 1930 Hitler explained to his audience that no other people had more of a right to fight for and attain "control" of the globe (Weltherrschaft, i.e. "world leadership", "world rule") than the Germans. He realized that this extremely ambitious goal could never be achieved without an enormous amount of fighting.[13] Hitler had alluded to future German world dominance even earlier in during his political career. In a letter written by Rudolf Hess to Walter Hewel in 1927, Hess paraphrases Hitler's vision: "World peace is certainly an ideal worth striving for; in Hitler's opinion it will be realizable only when one power, the racially best one, has attained complete and uncontested supremacy. That [power] can then provide a sort of world police, seeing to it at the same time that the most valuable race is guaranteed the necessary living space.
---
Hitler hoped to turn Germany into a total blockade-proof autarky by exploiting the vast resources lying in Soviet territories: the Ukraine was to provide grain, vegetable oil, feeding-stuffs, iron ore, nickel, manganese, coal, molybdenum; the Crimea natural rubber, citrus fruit and cotton; the Black Sea fish and the Caucasus crude oil.
---
The long-term objective as detailed by Hitler in Mein Kampf was the incorporation of large territories in Eastern Europe for German settlement, eventually expanding the territory of the Third Reich all the way to the Ural Mountains. Acquisition of settlement colonies in Eastern Europe would therefore solve the question of lebensraum.
---
Hitler's geopolitical thoughts about Africa always occupied a secondary position to his expansionist aims in Europe itself: "A colonial policy only makes sense if you first control the continent". His public announcements prior to outbreak of the war that Germany's former colonies be returned to it served primarily as bargaining chips to further territorial goals in Europe itself.
---
In 1940, the general staff of the German Navy produced a much more detailed plan accompanied by a map showing a proposed German colonial empire  in sub-Saharan Africa, extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean. The establishment of a vast colonial empire was to serve primarily economic purposes. The area included all pre-WWI German colonial territories in Africa, as well as additional parts of the French, Belgian and British colonial holdings in Africa.
A second part of the plan entailed the construction of a huge string of fortified naval and air bases for future operations against the Western hemisphere spanning much of the Atlantic coastline of Europe and Africa from Trondheim in Norway all the way up to the Belgian Congo, as well as many off-lying islands such as Cape Verde and the Azores. A less extensive but similar initiative was intended for the east coast of Africa.
---
In 1942, a secret diplomatic conference was held between Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire in which they agreed to divide Asia along a line that followed the Yenisei River to the border of China, and then along the border of China and the Soviet Union, the northern and western borders of Afghanistan, and the border between Iran and India (what is now Pakistan was then part of India).
---
After the projected fall of the USSR, Hitler planned to intensify the war in the Mediterranean. The OKW produced studies concerning an attack against the Suez Canal through Turkey, an offensive towards Baghdad-Basra from the Caucasus (most of which was already under German occupation as a result of Fall Blau) in support of revolting Arab nationalists, and operations in Afghanistan and Iran directed against British India.
---
Turkey was favoured as a potential ally by Hitler because of its important strategic location on the boundaries of Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as its extensive history as a state hostile against the Russian Empire as well as the later Soviet Union.
The Black Sea (which Hitler derided as "a mere frog-pond")was also to be conceded to Turkey as part of its sphere of influence, for this would negate the need of stationing a German navy in the region to replace the Soviet Black Sea Fleet.
---
Allied-occupied Iran was also to be drawn into the Axis camp, possibly by the means of an uprising. The possibility of Iran as an anti-Soviet bastion was already considered in the 1930s, and coincided with Hitler's declaration of Iran as an "Aryan state" (the name Iran literally means "homeland of the Aryans" in Persian). The changing of Persia's name to Iran in 1935 was done by the Shah at the suggestion of the German ambassador to Iran as an act of "Aryan solidarity". On the eve of WWII Germany was already Iran's single-biggest trading partner, followed by the USSR, Britain, and the US.
---
During pre-war diplomatic maneuvers, the NSDAP Foreign Affairs Office took special interest in Afghanistan, believing that the Kaiserreich had failed to exploit the country diplomatically during the First World War despite the Niedermayer-Hentig Expedition. The objective was to ensure that the country would remain neutral during a possible German-British conflict, and even use it militarily against British India or Soviet Russia. Despite the NSDAP Foreign Office's good relations with the Afghan government, the Foreign Ministry under Ribbentrop favored overthrowing the current government and restoration of the rule of Amānullāh Khān, who had been living in exile since 1929.
After the German-French armistice of 1940, the Kabul government tried to question Berlin on German plans concerning the future of Afghanistan. Of special interest were the post-war borders of the country - the Afghan government hoped to see the "liberation" of 15 million ethnic Afghans living in British India, and the securing of the northern Afghan border so that an expansion towards the Indian Ocean became possible.
---
The Third Saudi State under Ibn Saud was seen as a natural ally, and was to be given territorial concessions in south-west Arabia and Transjordan. Also, a post-war satellite Greater Arab Union was discussed.
On February 17, 1945 Hitler explained to his entourage his regrets that Germany's prior alliance with its southern neighbour had prevented her from pursuing a 'more revolutionary' policy towards the Arab world, which would have also allowed its exit from the British and French spheres of influence in the area.

On October, 26th 2011, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and German Chancellor Angela Merkel addressed the media during a news conference after a meeting at the Chancellery in Berlin, Germany. Rasmussen said the alliance wanted to confirm a decision to end its operations in Libya by Oct. 31.  Rasmussen: 'The U.N.’s resolution adopted earlier in the day reflects that we have fully accomplished our mandate to protect the civilian population of Libya. Even though I do not foresee a major NATO role in Libya in the post-conflict period, if requested the alliance could assist the new Libyan government in the transformation to democracy, particularly in the areas of defense and security sector reforms'.

The secret armies of NATO

American and NATO forces are training Syrian terrorist groups in southeastern Turkish city of Hakkari.

The US is also involved in smuggling arms into Syria from Incirlik military base in Turkey in addition to providing financial support for Syrian terrorist groups.

Through NATO, working with various Western European intelligence agencies, the CIA set up a network of stay behind “secret armies” which were responsible for dozens of terrorist atrocities across Western Europe over decades.

In Turkey in 1960, the stay behind army, working with the army, staged a coup d’état and killed Prime Minister Adnan Menderes; in Algeria in 1961, the French stay-behind army staged a coup with the CIA against the French government of Algiers, which ultimately failed; in 1967, the Greek stay-behind army staged a coup and imposed a military dictatorship; in 1971 in Turkey, after a military coup, the stay-behind army engaged in “domestic terror” and killed hundreds; in 1977 in Spain, the stay behind army carried out a massacre in Madrid; in 1980 in Turkey, the head of the stay behind army staged a coup and took power; in 1985 in Belgium, the stay behind attacked and shot shoppers randomly in supermarkets, killing 28; in Switzerland in 1990, the former head of the Swiss stay behind wrote the US Defense Department he would reveal “the whole truth,” and was found the next day stabbed to death with his own bayonet; and in 1995, England revealed that the MI6 and SAS helped set up stay behind armies across Western Europe.

NATO claims that the idea behind the NATO’s missile defense plans, is to secure Europe from attack by Iran or some other hostile power.  But in reality, through Nato, the US is able to exercise influence over the domestic affairs of other countries and to exercise its imperial power.

Turkish missiles are designed by Israel

Popey.missile.Israel.jpgPopeye missiles

The Popeye is an air to ground missile developed by Israel.

It is is designed for precision attack against large targets from stand off ranges. The standard Popeye and smaller Popeye-Lite are powered by a single stage solid rocket, a jet engine propels the Popeye Turbo variants.

An inertial guidance system pilots the missile towards the target; for terminal homing the pilot can control the missile directly via an INS and data link, aiming via either a television or imaging infrared seeker depending on the missile model. It is not necessary for the launching aircraft to direct the missile - control can be passed to another platform whilst the firing aircraft escapes the area.

The alleged Israeli submarine launched cruise missile variant is reported to be jet powered and nuclear armed with a greatly increased range.

Israel has exported Popeye and its variants to various friendly countries.

The United States Air Force first bought a batch of 154 missiles in 1989 followed by a second batch of 54 missiles in 1996.

In May 1997, Israel and Turkey signed an agreement valued in excess of US $500 million for the establishment of a joint-venture between Israel's Rafael and Turkey's Turkish Aerospace Industries for the co-production of Popeye I and Popeye II missiles in Turkey.
The Turkish Air Force's F-4 2020 Terminator aircraft and the TuAF F-16 CCIP are armed with a Turkish License production version of the Popeye.

On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed.

British MP George Galloway.jpgGalloway: Global War on Syria Similar to War on Egypt in 1956… Syrian Leadership Will Not Be Defeated

Oct 30, 2012

BEIRUT, (SANA) – British MP George Galloway affirmed that the global war currently being waged on Syria is similar to the one waged against Egypt in 1956, voicing confidence that Syria will be victorious over this war under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad similar to the victory of the late Jamal Abdelnasser.

During a meeting with former Lebanese President Emil Lahhoud in Beirut on Tuesday, Galloway stressed that the Syrian leadership will not be defeated, underlining the need for the plan launched by former UN Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan to bear fruit and for countries to stop providing military support to the Syrian opposition.

'Iraq urges end to Turkey PKK attacks'

Iraq has called for an end to the presence of Turkish military forces on its land, demanding that Turkey stop its attacks on members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.

“The cabinet decided to reject the presence of any foreign bases or forces on Iraqi land and to reject the entry of any foreign military forces into Iraqi land,” said Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Dabbagh reiterated that the Turkish military action against the PKK members on Iraqi land “contradicts the principles of good neighborly relations.”

The Iraqi cabinet “recommends that parliament cancel or not extend any treaty signed in the past with any foreign state that allows the presence of foreign forces and military bases on Iraqi land or the entry of these forces,” the Iraqi government spokesman stated.

The remarks were made in response to a request by the Turkish government on Monday from its parliament to renew a mandate, expiring on October 17, that allows Turkish military strikes against the PKK in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region of Iraq.

The treaty in question was signed by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 1995, allowing Turkish forces to have presence in the northern regions of Iraq to target the Kurdish group.

The military presence of Turkish forces and their crossing into Iraq “is a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and security,” Dabbagh added.

Some analysts believe that Baghdad’s decision may be a reaction to Turkey’s refusal to extradite fugitive Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, who has been sentenced to death in absentia by an Iraqi court for running terror squads in Iraq.

Over the past months, Turkish military forces and the PKK have been involved in one of their heaviest clashes since the beginning of the Kurdish group’s armed opposition against Ankara.

In July, Baghdad warned Ankara against the “violation” of its territory and airspace by Turkish fighter jets and called on its foreign ministry to file a complaint with the UN Security Council over the issue.

Turkey is one of five European nations that continue to house U.S. tactical nuclear weapons allocated for NATO.

Some months ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists and C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and 'medical' working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

It proved once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Israeli-Turkish ties have deteriorated over Israel's refusal to apologize for the deaths of nine Turkish activists in a raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship last year, but according to US officials, Hillary Clinton urged Turkey to “keep the door open” to better ties with Israel.

It is important to know that in May 1997, Israel and Turkey signed an agreement valued in excess of US $500 million for the establishment of a joint-venture between Israel's Rafael and Turkey's Turkish Aerospace Industries for the co-production of Popeye I and Popeye II missiles in Turkey.
The Popeye is an air to ground missile developed and in use by Israel, of which several types have been developed for Israeli and export users. A substantially modified long-range cruise missile variant of the Popeye Turbo has been speculated as being employed in Israel's submarine-based nuclear forces.
Israel has exported Popeye and its variants to various friendly countries:

US uses Turkey as a launching pad for bombing Syria

nato-bombs-libya_spring_2011.jpg

President Obama, was the 2009 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

As a reminder: In 2003 Turkey was being bitterly criticized in the US for 'failing to allow us combat troops to use Turkey as a launching pad to open a second front in northern Iraq'.

'US envoy reveals secret assistance offer to Turkey in PKK fight'

The US ambassador to Turkey has revealed that Washington secretly offered Ankara to have an “anti-bin Laden” type of joint operation against a number of military leaders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)...

On Tuesday, Francis Ricciardone revealed to Turkish journalists that the US had offered Turkey its military technology to hunt down the PKK leaders.

However, the Turkish government turned down the offer, saying it would continue battling with the PKK “on the basis of its laws and experiences.”

The PKK has been fighting for an autonomous Kurdish region inside Turkey since the 1980s.

Ankara has carried out several military operations against the PKK in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan also confirmed on October 16 that he had rejected the offer on a rather technical basis.

Erdogan recalled the US operation near the Pakistani capital Islamabad in May 2011 that led to the death of Osama bin Laden.

“Bin Laden was caught in a house,” said the Turkish premier, adding, “But the struggle here is in mountainous geography.”

This is reportedly the second disclosed secret offer of assistance by the US.

'Turkish policeman, eight PKK members killed in clashes'

At least nine people, including one policeman, have been killed in clashes between police and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak...

Heavy fighting erupted after PKK members attacked the building of Sirnak provincial government, a police department and a police checkpoint with automatic rifles and rocket-propelled grenades on Sunday.

Law enforcement agents have cordoned off the area and launched manhunt operations to arrest PKK members involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, Turkish troops backed by jets, launched an offensive against the Kurdish rebels in Sirnak.

Clashes between Turkish troops and PKK fighters have intensified in recent months.

Six Turkish soldiers and three PKK members were killed in overnight clashes along a highway in the remote province of Hakkari bordering Iraq and Iran.

PKK has been fighting for an autonomous Kurdish region inside Turkey since the 1980s. The conflict has left tens of thousands of people dead.

War between Turkey and Syria

Erdogan.petit.caniche.de.Hillary.Clinton.jpgISTANBUL, Oct. 9 2012 (Xinhua) - Turkey and Syria move closer than ever to the verge of war after Syria's latest mortar shelling killed five Turkish civilians.

The Turkey Parliament has authorized a war mandate last week, enabling further cross-border military action against Syria.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked about the war twice within a week, saying that Turkey was not far away from war and called on his people to be prepared.

Turkey and Syria have been exchanging cross-border artillery fire for almost a week. In this sense, Turkey has already started fighting.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last Saturday that conflict between Turkey and Syria may escalate and spread to neighboring countries.

However, many Turkish analysts worry that it would be great mistake for Turkey to get involved in a war with Syria, which could bring serious consequences to this country.

"If Turkey starts war with Syria, it would be detrimental for both countries. Turkey's social stability, economic development and democratization process would all be badly affected," Aykan Erdemir, a Turkish MP from the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), told Xinhua.

U.S. tactical nuclear weapons in Turkey

Popey-missile.Israel.Turkey.jpg

It proved once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Photo: In May 1997, Israel and Turkey signed an agreement valued in excess of US $500 million for the establishment of a joint-venture between Israel's Rafael and Turkey's Turkish Aerospace Industries for the co-production of Popeye I and Popeye II missiles in Turkey

Oct 22, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, met on Monday the National Democratic Bloc delegation at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

Secretary-General of the National Youth for Justice and Development Party, Barwin Ibrahim, pointed out in a statement to journalists after the meeting that the National Democratic Bloc presented its point of view on the crisis in Syria and the vision of its parties for dealing with the crisis.

Ibrahim said that the bloc criticized the international community for not listening to the voice of the opposition inside Syria and adopting the point of view of the outside opposition which does not represent the Syrian people and calls for foreign intervention.

She said that the international community considers the political solution of the crisis in Syria as a compromise and reconciliation among the superpowers.

For his part, Secretary-General of the National Democratic Solidarity Party, Salim Abdul-Wahab al-Kharat, said that the bloc is searching for a roadmap to deal with all national opposition powers inside Syria, calling for halting violence by all sides.

Secretary-General of the Syrian Democratic Party, Firas Nadim, stressed the importance of lifting the suffering of the Syrian people because of the oppressive economic sanctions, calling on the UN envoy to Syria to play a bigger role in exerting pressure on the countries which are supporting the armed terrorist groups to end bloodshed in Syria.

Putin calls for taking military-technical cooperation with BRICS to new level

NOVO OGAREVO: President Vladimir Putin called for raising military-technical cooperation with partner countries from the BRICS Group – Brazil, India, China, and South Africa – and also with Vietnam to a new level.

“We will develop cooperation with our partners from the BRICS Group and with Vietnam,” Putin said at a meeting of the Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation on Wednesday, October 17.

“Given the growing technological, industrial and scientific potential of these countries, military-technical cooperation with them can and should be raised to a qualitatively new level,” the president said.

He said he meant “deep industrial cooperation and joint research, creation of effective maintenance and after-sale service systems, and joint access to third countries”.

Putin recalled that “the BRICS countries have been dynamically gaining political, economic and technological momentum over the last several years, and showing high and stable growth rates. BRICS countries account for 43 percent of the world’s population and their combined GDP is makes up about one-fifth of the global”.

He believes that Russia has “built a constructive dialogue” with these countries, and it has been successfully coordinating actions with them on a wide range of global and regional issues.

India and China are “traditional key partners” of Russia in military-technical cooperation. “We see broad prospects for relations in this field with Brazil and South Africa,” he said.

Putin said Vietnam is “one of the trusted partners of Russia” with which “we are intensifying military-technical cooperation after some pause in the 1990s”.

As an example, Putin cited India with which “we do not limit ourselves to the supply of finished products only and give more and more attention to join R&D work and licensed production, including for supply to other countries”.

“Benefits are obvious: joint production allows us to reduce production costs, obtain and introduce new technologies, including dual purpose ones, and organise rational transfer of technologies from the defence indsutry to civilian sectors,” the president said.

U.S. angry that Afghans banned cluster bombs

December 6, 2010

A secret cable describes how the Bush-era State Department labored to keep the controversial weapons in Afghanistan...

The 2,000-pound "smart" bomb that killed two U.S. special forces troops and injured 20 others in Afghanistan on December 5, 2001 is one of the most modern and precise weapons in America's military arsenal. Such "JDAMs" (joint direct attack munitions) bombs, which are dropped in both 1,000-pound and 2,000-pound versions, were developed after the 1991 Gulf War for more precise day and night use against ground targets through fog, clouds or other bad weather. A JDAM cluster is shown in this undated Air Force photograph. REUTERS/USAF/Handout RC/SV(Credit: © Reuters Photographer / Reuters)

Here’s another WikiLeaked cable that offers an unfiltered look at a little-discussed aspect of American foreign policy: the Bush-era State Department panicked in 2008 after Afghanistan unexpectedly signed an international treaty banning cluster bombs, with the U.S. fearing that the military could no longer store and use the controversial weapons in Afghanistan.

The December 2008 cable followed an international summit at which Afghanistan and over 90 other countries — not including the U.S. — signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM), which ban the use of bombs that scatter so-called bomblets over a wide area. Some of the bomblets typically do not explode, creating a deadly hazard for civilians that can last for many years.

Because the treaty prohibits not only the use of cluster bombs, but also the storage of the munitions, the State Department was worried about the fate of the American store of the bombs in Afghanistan. So Washington sent a note to the embassy in Kabul to pressure the Afghan government on this point:

The U.S. Government believes Article 21 of the Convention provides the flexibility for signatories to continue to cooperate and conduct operations with U.S. forces, and in turn for U.S. forces to store, transfer, and use U.S. cluster munitions in the territory of a State Party. The Department requests that Post approach appropriate interlocutors at the Afghan Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense to urge Kabul to interpret Article 21 in a similar manner, minimizing any potential impact of Afghanistan,s signature of the Convention on U.S. operations and military cooperation. Given the political sensitivities in Afghanistan surrounding cluster munitions as well as air and artillery strikes in general, the Department believes that a low-profile approach will be the best way to ensure a common understanding that the CCM does not impede military planning and operations between our two governments.

Remarkably, one of the U.S. talking points argued that the use of cluster bombs would actually reduce civilian casualties (emphasis added).

Not allowing the use of cluster munitions will increases risk to Coalition forces engaged in combat from enemy counter-fire, reduce responsiveness, decrease the number of different targets that can be attacked within a specified timeframe, and will substantially increase risks of collateral damage by requiring usage of a greater number of large, unitary warheads to accomplish the same mission.

The Guardian has more on how the U.S. also labored to keep cluster munitions in Britain, which, like Afghanistan, signed the treaty.

'We preach freedom around the world'

John F. Kennedy

Civil Rights Address

11 June 1963

Good evening, my fellow citizens:

This afternoon, following a series of threats and defiant statements, the presence of Alabama National Guardsmen was required on the University of Alabama to carry out the final and unequivocal order of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Alabama. That order called for the admission of two clearly qualified young Alabama residents who happened to have been born Negro. That they were admitted peacefully on the campus is due in good measure to the conduct of the students of the University of Alabama, who met their responsibilities in a constructive way.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

Today, we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. And when Americans are sent to Vietnam or West Berlin, we do not ask for whites only. It ought to be possible, therefore, for American students of any color to attend any public institution they select without having to be backed up by troops. It ought to to be possible for American consumers of any color to receive equal service in places of public accommodation, such as hotels and restaurants and theaters and retail stores, without being forced to resort to demonstrations in the street, and it ought to be possible for American citizens of any color to register and to vote in a free election without interference or fear of reprisal. It ought to to be possible, in short, for every American to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard to his race or his color. In short, every American ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated. But this is not the case.

The Negro baby born in America today, regardless of the section of the State in which he is born, has about one-half as much chance of completing a high school as a white baby born in the same place on the same day, one-third as much chance of completing college, one-third as much chance of becoming a professional man, twice as much chance of becoming unemployed, about one-seventh as much chance of earning $10,000 a year, a life expectancy which is 7 years shorter, and the prospects of earning only half as much.

This is not a sectional issue. Difficulties over segregation and discrimination exist in every city, in every State of the Union, producing in many cities a rising tide of discontent that threatens the public safety. Nor is this a partisan issue. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics. This is not even a legal or legislative issue alone. It is better to settle these matters in the courts than on the streets, and new laws are needed at every level, but law alone cannot make men see right. We are confronted primarily with a moral issue. It is as old as the Scriptures and is as clear as the American Constitution.

The heart of the question is whether all Americans are to be afforded equal rights and equal opportunities, whether we are going to treat our fellow Americans as we want to be treated. If an American, because his skin is dark, cannot eat lunch in a restaurant open to the public, if he cannot send his children to the best public school available, if he cannot vote for the public officials who will represent him, if, in short, he cannot enjoy the full and free life which all of us want, then who among us would be content to have the color of his skin changed and stand in his place? Who among us would then be content with the counsels of patience and delay?

One hundred years of delay have passed since President Lincoln freed the slaves, yet their heirs, their grandsons, are not fully free. They are not yet freed from the bonds of injustice. They are not yet freed from social and economic oppression. And this Nation, for all its hopes and all its boasts, will not be fully free until all its citizens are free.

We preach freedom around the world, and we mean it, and we cherish our freedom here at home, but are we to say to the world, and much more importantly, to each other that this is the land of the free except for the Negroes; that we have no second-class citizens except Negroes; that we have no class or caste system, no ghettoes, no master race except with respect to Negroes?

Now the time has come for this Nation to fulfill its promise. The events in Birmingham and elsewhere have so increased the cries for equality that no city or State or legislative body can prudently choose to ignore them. The fires of frustration and discord are burning in every city, North and South, where legal remedies are not at hand. Redress is sought in the streets, in demonstrations, parades, and protests which create tensions and threaten violence and threaten lives.

We face, therefore, a moral crisis as a country and a people. It cannot be met by repressive police action. It cannot be left to increased demonstrations in the streets. It cannot be quieted by token moves or talk. It is a time to act in the Congress, in your State and local legislative body and, above all, in all of our daily lives. It is not enough to pin the blame on others, to say this a problem of one section of the country or another, or deplore the facts that we face. A great change is at hand, and our task, our obligation, is to make that revolution, that change, peaceful and constructive for all. Those who do nothing are inviting shame, as well as violence. Those who act boldly are recognizing right, as well as reality.

Next week I shall ask the Congress of the United States to act, to make a commitment it has not fully made in this century to the proposition that race has no place in American life or law. The Federal judiciary has upheld that proposition in a series of forthright cases. The Executive Branch has adopted that proposition in the conduct of its affairs, including the employment of Federal personnel, the use of Federal facilities, and the sale of federally financed housing. But there are other necessary measures which only the Congress can provide, and they must be provided at this session. The old code of equity law under which we live commands for every wrong a remedy, but in too many communities, in too many parts of the country, wrongs are inflicted on Negro citizens and there are no remedies at law. Unless the Congress acts, their only remedy is the street.

I am, therefore, asking the Congress to enact legislation giving all Americans the right to be served in facilities which are open to the public -- hotels, restaurants, theaters, retail stores, and similar establishments. This seems to me to be an elementary right. Its denial is an arbitrary indignity that no American in 1963 should have to endure, but many do.

I have recently met with scores of business leaders urging them to take voluntary action to end this discrimination, and I have been encouraged by their response, and in the last two weeks over 75 cities have seen progress made in desegregating these kinds of facilities. But many are unwilling to act alone, and for this reason, nationwide legislation is needed if we are to move this problem from the streets to the courts.

I'm also asking the Congress to authorize the Federal Government to participate more fully in lawsuits designed to end segregation in public education. We have succeeded in persuading many districts to desegregate voluntarily. Dozens have admitted Negroes without violence. Today, a Negro is attending a State-supported institution in every one of our 50 States, but the pace is very slow.

Too many Negro children entering segregated grade schools at the time of the Supreme Court's decision nine years ago will enter segregated high schools this fall, having suffered a loss which can never be restored. The lack of an adequate education denies the Negro a chance to get a decent job.

The orderly implementation of the Supreme Court decision, therefore, cannot be left solely to those who may not have the economic resources to carry the legal action or who may be subject to harassment.

Other features will be also requested, including greater protection for the right to vote. But legislation, I repeat, cannot solve this problem alone. It must be solved in the homes of every American in every community across our country. In this respect I wanna pay tribute to those citizens North and South who've been working in their communities to make life better for all. They are acting not out of sense of legal duty but out of a sense of human decency. Like our soldiers and sailors in all parts of the world they are meeting freedom's challenge on the firing line, and I salute them for their honor and their courage.

My fellow Americans, this is a problem which faces us all -- in every city of the North as well as the South. Today, there are Negroes unemployed, two or three times as many compared to whites, inadequate education, moving into the large cities, unable to find work, young people particularly out of work without hope, denied equal rights, denied the opportunity to eat at a restaurant or a lunch counter or go to a movie theater, denied the right to a decent education, denied almost today the right to attend a State university even though qualified. It seems to me that these are matters which concern us all, not merely Presidents or Congressmen or Governors, but every citizen of the United States.

This is one country. It has become one country because all of us and all the people who came here had an equal chance to develop their talents. We cannot say to ten percent of the population that you can't have that right; that your children cannot have the chance to develop whatever talents they have; that the only way that they are going to get their rights is to go in the street and demonstrate. I think we owe them and we owe ourselves a better country than that.

Therefore, I'm asking for your help in making it easier for us to move ahead and to provide the kind of equality of treatment which we would want ourselves; to give a chance for every child to be educated to the limit of his talents.

As I've said before, not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or equal motivation, but they should have the equal right to develop their talent and their ability and their motivation, to make something of themselves.

We have a right to expect that the Negro community will be responsible, will uphold the law, but they have a right to expect that the law will be fair, that the Constitution will be color blind, as Justice Harlan said at the turn of the century.

This is what we're talking about and this is a matter which concerns this country and what it stands for, and in meeting it I ask the support of all our citizens.

Thank you very much.

Washington is responsible for terrorist acts and death of Syrian civilians

Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government. Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust Assad.  C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

Human rights organizations: 'Syrian Army using cluster bombs'

Amnesty.Nossel.DifferentPodium.SameLies.jpg'Syrian government forces have used Russian-made cluster bombs on populated areas in their effort to push back rebel advances along the country's main north-south highway', according to Human Rights Watch.

The Syrian Army denied using cluster bombs in its fights against terrorists and by US. armed groups in Syria.

Western human rights organizations as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, have very good relations with the US State Department and are part of the daily American war propaganda and western media...

Suzanne Nossel previously of the US State Department, is now executive director of Amnesty International USA.
Nossel was drawn directly from the US State Department - again, utterly contradicting Amnesty's claims of being "independent" of governments and corporate interests. She continued promoting US foreign policy, but simply behind a podium with a new logo, Amnesty International's logo, attached to it. Amnesty International's website specifically mentions Nossel's role behind US State Department-backed UN resolutions regarding Iran, Syria, Libya, and Cote d'Ivoire.
