Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, discussed with Director of the Economic Development and Globalization at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Abdullah al-Dardari ESCWA's project for rehabilitating infrastructure in Syria in various sectors.

Mikdad said that Syria has made big strides in building economy and infrastructure in the years prior to the crisis, indicating that part of the conspiracy targeting Syria is aimed at destroying Syria's historical and cultural landmarks.

He stressed that Syria is looking forward to ending violence and starting national dialogue, and is determined to start reconstruction in parallel with restoring security and stability.

Dr. Mikdad highlighted the negative impact of the unjust sanctions imposed on Syria and the importance of exerting efforts for lifting them soon.

Al-Dardari said the project identifies the current challenges and offers the available options for helping the Syrian government in mobilizing resources after the crisis ends.
