Aug 15, 2012 - Syrian military forces have cleared several districts in the northwestern city of Idlib, the southwestern city of Dara'a and the largest city of Aleppo of insurgents.

Syrian troops also killed a large number of insurgents in Aleppo's Sabaa Bahrat neighborhood on Wednesday.

Earlier, the government forces managed to clear Awarm al-Jawz and the town of Ma’art Mesrin in Idlib as well as Seif al-Dowla district in Aleppo.

The Syrian forces also killed and captured a large number of insurgents in Dara'a.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army destroyed 10 cars full of weapons in Aleppo's Kafar Besin district.

They also seized a dozen vehicles carrying weapons for the insurgents in a suburb of the northwestern city of Aleppo.

In another incident, a bomb exploded in Aleppo on Wednesday. There are no reports on possible casualties, yet.

Syria has been the scene of deadly unrest since mid-March, 2011, and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the armed insurgents are foreign nationals.
